Just visited Chatsworth today and they had the spot where we lined up for photos the other year fenced off, and parking was just on the grass (for pictures). That and of course it's gone up to £7.50 to park, so I'm not convinced it's worth popping in, although I'm happy to put it to the vote on the day.

Blenheim Palace was very responsive when I organised a meet there. Mind you it was back in 2015 but could be worth exploring again Drew.

The layby is very time of day dependant & odds are it'll never not have other vehicles in it

This bridge is incredibly quiet compared to the one on snake way and low walls for the lake/river but, its a live road at the end of the day, a snap and dash operation

Yes, with it being a weekend run (and I think the schools are out) it'll be a miracle if there's not a fair bit of traffic. We can always see on the day.

Leaving a very wet and windy Suffolk in the next hour for a long weekend, in what looks to be a bright and sunny Derbyshire!
No point in washing the 8 before I set out, so I'll probably go for a Polish Polish in Matlock on Saturday evening

Assuming we all want a wee/coff stop we should be at the Brookside Garden Centre, London Rd N, Poynton, Stockport SK12 1BY, for about 11am.
Let me know if you want to meet there (drop me a text) on the morning and we'll keep an eye out for you. Don't be surprised if we run a little late though
And there the Ladybower Inn for around 12:15 if you want food or just a sit down chat before we head South.
