This year is a wider scope, low key private event following the same route in reverse, but only pre-ordering the room's and main meal.

As usual, It will be May and the usual 2nd weekend of the 11th-12th May to miss the Bank Hol congestion.

This will not be the fully co-ordinated pre-ordering and club backed event previously. This will be a private event for friends, RX-8s and other clubs I invite.

What does this mean in brief?

1.The new start will be Rhug estate where we finished last year, approx a further 15 miles into Wales.
2. We will be doing the same route as last year but in reverse, this will give a whole different route context to those who came previously.
3. There will be no pre-ordered or booked lunch. We will stop at the same pubs as usual for either drink or rest or purchase individual lunch. Again this will not be pre-ordered by me, you may wish to pre book your own to avoid disappointment or BYO lunch to eat by the car. I will add stops, times and locats on the route plan later.
4. I will use my usual contact to reduce rates at the normal evening hotel of the Deganwy Quay for Sat evening. Again this will not be a group booking, i will provide a contact number via pm for you to book at an agreed price. Depending on numbers to book an evening meal this may be the only pre-order to assist the hotel for personal reasons that i dont mind assisting these plus its in my best interest to help out with this one..........
5. Lunch day 2 will be the same as above, im not preordering or doing prep. Its BYO, buy at the cafe etc, the hotel is by a Tesco for fuel and food for next day.


So, basically Im going for a drive and stopping for lunch. Then going for beers and having some "Cheesecake" in the evening while crashing over night at a nice hotel then doing same the next day. Join me if you wish, or dont My car will be leaving Rhug at 10:30hrs sharp on the 11th.....No roll call this time, catch me if you can I will copy and paste the routes up from my other thread in the different order when on computer......This was a much easier idea

Giving this a quick bump for those who are new or may not of seen it.

This will be the 3rd year now, having nailed down the route and stops, we will be doing the route in reverse to capture a different perspective while still being able to use the welcoming places for food and refreshments.

This is a popular event, please sign up early to ensure a place as depending on size I may cap it at 25ish due to trying to keep everyone in convoy.

I will be opening this out to Familia also and others, once accepted onto the list I will add you to the WhatsApp group which will come into play early next year as we prep.

Ant (judderman) has stumbled across my tour Snowdon run and popped his name down. Though this year its a private event, rather than a club sponsored event, I can assure you all its the event to kick start the season. The same vibes and mindset seen this AM, if you attended and enjoyed the AM outing then I can guarantee you will enjoy 20+ rx8s singing glorious notes as we wind through my back garden, stopping regularly to chat and relax at beauty spots or points of interest. Culminating in a friend's and family discount at one of, if not, North wales premium Hotel that includes dinner, bed and breakfast. This is a 5* experience, usually for the price of a premier Inn. They also do good Cheesecake (just for you @silviu and @johnbrix). Anyway, everyone that attended the AM is certainly more than welcome. You were all such a great laugh and bunch of people. Ant has already put his name down, if others wish to follow then please comment so I can add you.

Adding your name at this time is not a solid commitment, more a showing interest. As I start organising at the beginning of 2024, I will contact those with their names down and supply the hotel with a list of names entitled to the discount. All in, this year you could attend from about 180 for single occupancy or 220 for a couple at the hotel for dinner, B+B with some fuel on top and spend what you like on lunch or snacks during the day. Plenty of notice to start saving. Would be great to see you all lined up in my rear view mirror.......for a moment at least
