Mod action for topic tidying I'm afraid Chris. (plus i dont actually know how to move things and use the mods controls)..... Daves a mod and its his thread, so i think we can trust that he will put this to how he wishes. Certainly no objection to Dave having this how he wants/needs it. If even the offer is still of course available, did I see this was 2017?

Though I think if everyone can hop back onto topic please, it would assist Dave. And yes I'm aware I got excited and asked Nigel first as it was vaguely relevant to what he was asking at the time. The irony is not lost. As above from madam sec, focus discussion on Daves kind offer for board to those weary travellers deafened by their exhausts and having inhaled to much dinosaur fumes from a long drive to Ireland.

All this laundry in public makes the forum a toxic place and expected the relevant posts to simply be removed/moved and the relevant parties communicated with accordingly and not for a further post to be added.
I of course realise I am myself adding to the public discord so please whoever takes the necessary action feel free to remove my post along with the others.

Exactly why it isn’t on the forum. Search before commenting like this please, it was deleted some time ago. It may get resurrected, but as it’s an overseas trip it’s complex and difficult with anything other than small(ish) numbers. This could change once the detail is better known and efforts to make it more affordable have been exhausted. This should give the clarity some have sought.

While somewhat off-topic, I read it as a healthy debate about the differences between Private (Invitation-only) gatherings and those Open to All Members, which needed airing.

As you are aware Dave, some of us are planning on coming over next year....

I wasn't previously aware Nigel but that's not a problem.
I suggest we take any further discussion on this specific visit; dates, numbers, etc, to PM.

Getting back on topic I'd encourage any member that could provide overnight accommodation, even if only a sofa for one or a room for a couple, to post the details on this thread.

Ideally I would like it to become too unwieldy to manage in one thread and justify its own forum section, within the Members Only area, where it could represent another key benefit of Membership. Whether it's to attend a local event, pick-up or view a potential purchase, or just touring around.

If we can justify a dedicated section then this could include both Offers of overnight accommodation, and Requests for.

So all, please have a think/discuss with your household, and see if we can make this an even more welcoming community.
If nothing else it could mean another RX8 on your drive, at least for a while...

I have a large shed that is slowly getting furniture to make it homely (corner sofa in there currently) and a large car park to the rear. My previous 2 cars (‘5 and an E90) higlighted for scale to the shed. Based in Havant near Hayling Island if thats any use to anyone, better check with the wife though!

Cracking idea Dave, hope you dont mind the hijack and this is what you were after? I could probably host a small BBQ if there was enough interest!

I'm always interested in BBQ....well food in general....I'd pop down. Though BBQ season is leaving us. Maybe an idea for next season.
