Routes successfully recced today (and a nice breakfast at Gilks) in prep for next week.
I'll make a small adjustment to the Amersham - Bucks leg to avoid awful roads and diversions due to HS2 & re-upload.

Note that the Buckingham RV has changed from Starbucks (now closed) to Costa - only a few years away next to Lidl.

Hi Folks,
Hopefully - final update before we set off tomorrow.

Though it might be a bit wet early morning - it looks like it will dry up, and not too cold as it has been during the week.

Routes are finalized. You should be able to link to the Google Maps from the first post, and send these to your phone to use for Navigation (if you are near the starting point).

I made contact with Grey (Snowie7) - and he's going to RV in Amersham in his Crossfire.

NOTE: I've updated the Amersham Meeting / Leaving time by 15 minutes - Meet 0715, leave 0730 - to ensure we have enough time at Buckingham.

I'll PM you all with my mobile number in case of difficulty meeting up etc. But please note that I will NOT answer my phone if we are driving.

Timings are strict to keep to schedule for the breakfast as Gilks will be expecting us, and it will no doubt get busy as many biking groups will probably treat tomorrow as their "last hurrah" before packing up for winter!

*stop press* Amersham Tesco. Just realised they've changed their parking Policy to *customers only* and as opening hours is 10:00-16:00 we risk fines if using their carpark outside those hours.


Therfore - I'll assemble along the Broadway or High Street in the old town instead. Turn LEFT at the roundabout. Please be reasonable and considerate in the early hours with engine noise.

Many thanks to all who turned up - and especially Ann for the photos! (Somehow I totally forgot to take *any* pictures today - too preoccupied with the organising! ).

I hope everybody enjoyed the day - despite the absolutely despicable stormy weather & standing water on the initial leg, things thankfully cleared up for the second and return legs. Breakfast was superb as usual at Gilks, and I look forward to a repeat in hopefully better weather in the Spring!

I had some reservations as I splashed down the A404 in torrential rain at 7am but it turned out nice and was an enjoyable drive out. Thank you for organising it.

Struggling to stay awake now after the early start!

I enjoyed the drive once we got the biblical rain out of the way. Picking the car with Rain sports was deffo the right choice. Not sure what was going on with my starter motor in Buckingham, but seems ok again now.
