Versatune (remap software) - GroupBuy Offer.

Post by Ryan Rotary Performance » Mon Oct 28, 2019 7:50 am

I have a new offer for club members, the possibility to own the Versatune Lite software and a Versa connect. (both S1 & R3)

Versatune is very similar to Mazdaedit and will allow you guys the opportunity to flash your own cars with a Map produced either by versatune or myself or any other versatune provider.

Main features summarised below:

Flash published tunes (tunes provided by myself or any other Versatune tuner)
Flash tunes built by our professional tuning partners
Disable unwanted DTCs
Unlimited reflashes
Virtual dashboard with model-specific parameters
Sound and visual alerts to keep the car running safe
Record unlimited data logs
Visual data log analyzer
Read and clear DTCs

The Software is locked to one car

So the price of the software complete with the USB interface is locked by Versatune and there is nothing I can do here and comes in at $399.99 (£312).
If we can get 10 people together I provide the software and also provide either a mini map Free of charge or, a full bespoke map for an additional £88

So for £400 you get the software, USB interface and a bespoke map, if at a later date you want adjustments, each adjustment will be £50 (periodic checks if you are concerned about something are FOC)

For those that desire it I can offer an additional Valet map FOC which will limit the speed, Revs and throttle for when the car goes in for servicing.

The price is for NA only but could do FI at additional cost.

Any idea on an end date for this Carl? Or are you going to see what initial interest is like first?

I am interested as was planning to go for a map with RRP soon anyway.
The thing I am interested to gauge is how much ongoing benefit there will be once the initial map is done, will the map be likely to need to change much for cars that are not subject to further modifications?

Happy to leave it open for now, see what the interest is and whether it's a goer or a nonstarter.

Nick,

Normally there is little reason to adjust the map once prepared if not making further modifications, however:

Logging tools which you can send to us are good for assisting future diagnostics if there is an issue.
Dwell map change for coils should you move from D585s or to D585 coils
Going from a Standard engine to a Bridge-port will count as an adjustment and will only cost £50.

Your sort of buying a cheap on-going support for remapping requirements.

Will this work on a PCM that's previously been modified (minimap) with MazdaEdit?

Great Q Dave, I have been assured by VersaTune this is not an issue but yet to test this out myself, for now assume there is no barrier for Mazdaedit users.

Speaking of Mazdaedit if you were going to go down this route then it would cost.

Mazdaedit Lite $250 (£195)
Tactrix OP 2.0 £170 (once posted and paid taxes)
Remapping £200

TOTAL £565

To anyone sitting on the fence about it, don't. Now I've fitted alot of mods to my 8, but after Carl worked his magic on mine, it's has totally transformed the car, it was amazing what was done through software alone. 100% best mod I've done by far. Just do it :)

I'd be interested to know if this was the case, as I can't even write to the PCM with Forscan or MazdaIDS due to Mazdaedit changing the security key.

I'm not familiar with either of those software pieces so cannot comment.

Hmm. I'll have to consider this.. I would like a remap on the car and the continued option of not expensive remaps is a big win. But can I justify it.. Over other things. I guess I'll see how the interest goes before putting my name up. If its early into next year it maybe doable for me. But I'm not certain on that right now.

If anyone missed it, you'll find currently available free maps by scrolling down the product page linked in the first post. The Octane ratings will be on the US system.

Thanks for putting this out there Carl. I'm mulling over whether to do it, or whether to just drive to you for periodic re-tuning.

Having thought about this, it seems like a cool idea so happy to put my name down.
If we don’t hit the required numbers would still like the normal map done ASAP though.

I would love this, but simply cannot afford. I really hope you get some more interest Carl, and so here's another bump for the thread.

Carl,

I would definitely be interested. I just fitted the rrp coils I got in the recent group buy. I’ve always had a bit of a flat spot around 4250rpm (ever since fitting the decat & gutting the rear box) but it’s definitely more noticeable now with the better coils (which are ace by the way!! Definitely a noticeable improvement) so was thinking about getting a remap to tweak a few things. Let us know how this pans out, if there’s no interest I’ll certainly get in touch to arrange an RRP remote tuning job.

Cheers
231 in titanium grey, special edition 10 spoke rex wheels, full lockwood grills front and back, new coils leads and plugs, toyo sports decat & de-baffled OEM backbox, full tanned and black leather interior, bright orange callipers, re-sprayed wheels, white led sidelights...........

To do: catch can, new intake & save for a rebuilt ported donk........
