New! Remote mapping service

Post by Ryan Rotary Performance » Sat Jul 01, 2017 9:31 pm

So about to go live with my new remote mapping service, this is for the full bespoke map only. Full remap including postage of the hardware £200

Full details of what's included in the full map is at http://www.ryanrotaryperformance.com

The process:

1. You pay £400 for the service and hardware deposit. (I will reduce the deposit for full paid up members which is £200 to £50) but please this needs honesty to work.
2. You receive a Laptop, Dongle and accessories to connect to the car.
3. Instructions on the laptop will explain how to send me (email) logs for which I will need.
4. You upload and send me your base map.
5. I will ask you to perform Wide Open Throttle runs/logs so I can scale MAF and make corrections as necessary (I will email full details)
6. I send you a series of new maps until I am satisfied.
7. You return the hardware and receive your deposit back.

The idea of this is that I map your car over over a week or two at your leisure, it will take roughly 4-5 uploads to get things spot on.

I will also offer a further discount of £20 if this is passed on to another member rather than shipping back to me.

What you will receive:

The laptop separates to make it lightweight,

While I admire your trust in forgoing the £200 deposit for RX8OC members, I actually think that a small (say £50) deposit might be a useful incentive to encourage people to sent the kit back to you sooner rather than later. ;)

This sounds like a great idea.
I had something similar done with my C63 using a "My Genius" hand held device to upload/download maps.
Worked really well.

I would definitely be up for doing this. Would already having a mini map by someone else hinder this being done?

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, yes this should hopefully get over the pain of travelling to have your car adjusted.

Jimwil wrote:I would definitely be up for doing this. Would already having a mini map by someone else hinder this being done?
No I can still map the car, although they may have locked the ECU data so I may have to upload an appropriate base map.

This is a service I plan to make use of, as soon as time and funds allow.

I was going to promote it to the guys on Irish Rotary but that might be better left until the UK demand has died-down a bit.

I suppose it could be a good idea to set up a sort of "group buy" chain of us so we can pass it around and save the £20?

You could start with a £50 deposit to Ryan initially ..and the next person down the line refunds the last person with his £50 and so on until the last one and then the £50 held by Ryan is then returned on receipt of the kit :thumleft: Ryan will of course need to keep tabs on the kit somehow :)
That way everyone gets their £50 back instantly at swap-over time ;)

Good luck with that, I put it on FB and the forum and no response, guess they all bought into that jap map on the Irish forum so....
But I will get it at some stage when the warranty on my rebuild runs out :D

Deffo up for this, although had a minimap, so would need a base map for an R3 to begin with.

I'll have a look at maybe setting up a group buy 'chain' as it were :thumleft:

You're situated just a short, lovely drive away from me so I don't need the remote service but later this year I'll be making an appointment to see if you can help maximize the benefits of the decat & port.

What an excellent looking kit Carl. Very cool idea as a service too.

If I ever have enough mods to need a map (I've just a crappy intake at the mo), I know exactly who to visit :D

Hi guys, thread ressurection, but I'm chatting to Ryan Rotary about getting this done soon and I'm based in Oxfordshire - if there is anyone about who is interested in getting it done then we could potentially save some pennies :thumleft:
