I'm more impressed to see a spelling of knowledgeable that I've never witnessed before nor thought possible. It kind of works though!

I like the fact that even after spending enough time with someone to remap their car, they still don't know your name!

Fitted my lightweight pulley set yesterday, it's not a scary job at all like it can be on other cars, the pulleys look great fit fantastically and the car does rev faster and car seems to pull better. Well worth the purchase.

Seeing as this month is give Carl money month as well as the pulleys I went up to see Carl for a remap.

First off he makes a good cup of tea.
He cleaned my Maf for me then got to a mapping.
The car was apparently running pretty well so I only gained 8bhp but that's only half the story with a remap. The car now pulls so much better and harder in all gears, even to the point on the motorway where I was reaching for the gear knob to make sure it was in 6th and not 5th due to how well it pulled, ok we are not talking massive throw you in back of seat but more than enough to be impresssed with the improvement, I even think I get better fuel economy now.

In short if you can find a mod that gives you 8bhp, a better driving car, a car with more grunt and better fuel economy for well under £200 I'd like to see it!

I had a remote ECU Tuning done on my PZ over the weekend by Carl, really impressed with the feel of the the car after, power delivery is stronger. Carl was very knowledgeable and offered great advice. Package arrived with a laptop, some cables and some instructions. Carl had contacted me once he shipped the kit and told me what tests he needed me to log when it arrived and how to do these. Very quick at replying to each stage of the tuning. Almost as important as a great remap, Carl comes across as a genuinely nice person! Very good service and has now gained a new customer.

So although not actually a customer yet I had Darron round today with his bridge ported 192 that was built by yourselves. He was returning something he had borrowed off me and brought his car for me to have a look at as he's been having issues with the handling and wanted my input. The issues with handling are down to the tyres to be honest. Anyways tyres aside I was VERY impressed with the engine you have made, The power is smooth but noticeably more of it. I was expecting something different probably a bit less refined but it's excellent. The extra revs needed off the line I'm kind of used to as I have a stage 2 clutch and ultra light flywheel in my own 8 but apart from that it's very easy to drive. Also the noise off the thing is epic there's no chance of catching anyone by surprise  so a well done from myself for making what feels like a good strong engine and keep up the good work :thumleft: Also Darron had nothing but good things to say about both your products and customer service :thumleft:

Ordered my Mishimoto fans from Carl, until now every dealing I have had with mishimoto has been awful, Carl sent me tracking numbers informed me every step of the way and it has turned up quickly, it was a couple of quid more to order from RRP than eBay seller and we'll worth it for peace of mind.

After seeing a few products Carl makes I decide to purchase his engine mounts and Pulley kit.

He was very easy to deal with, answer’d all questions promptly to. Items were all very well packed, I was provided with tracking details and they arrived quickly and safely.

I am very impressed with the quality, I couldn’t fault them! Money well spent I feel and great price for both kits to.

I would happily recommend Carl at “Ryan Rotary Performance” and on these parts I’ve seen/got in first hand from my own experience.

Happy customer, thanks Carl.

I've just bought both RRP's new dual res decat and 3 inch cat back for my R3. I have to say that Carl was great to deal with and very fast at responding to any questions that I had...as for the quality of his products I'll leave that to the pictures!!

The short and sweet:

Roughly a month ago I purchased a RRP dual resonated decat for my 192 Nemesis. I fired Carl across a couple of questions, and he was always quick to reply, and very thorougher with his responses. The part arrived shortly, and was even tracked. It was well protected and once unwrapped looked magnificent. The quality of the part honestly isn’t done justice by photos. In summary, I love it. The stock cat/res combo has always felt rather muted, this has given the 8 the lungs it needs to really sing. It looks the part, and the service provided by Carl throughout the process has been exemplary. I can't praise him or his product enough. If RRP stocks a part/s I need, they will be guaranteed my custom in future. Thank you once again! :thumleft:

Detailed:
Spoiler:
As a bit of background, I knew my original 38k mile cat wasn’t very healthy. It had failed the previous MOT by being almost twice the limit, and would throw a P0139 O2 sensor circuit slow response (bank 1 sensor 2) error every 200 miles (bluetooth OBD readers are invaluable!). I still get this error (in fact I get it more frequently now I have the decat fitted), however vendors can prevent the CEL appearing from this sensor.

Before purchasing this I was tempted to opt for a 200 CEL cat/res combination however after the multiple emails with Carl, who I have to say was very quick to reply, informative and unbiased, I opted for a dual res, as I wanted to keep the dreaded “drone” some folk go on about at bay as much as possible on the motorway, yet enjoy a fruity exhaust note. The package arrived within a few days, and he even provided tracking details for it.

That evening I began the removal of the original cat. This can be managed with a pair of ramps under the rear of the vehicle, providing you don’t mind having just a piece of cardboard between you and the floor and can cope with tight spaces. The bolts (three at the manifold end, and two at the cat back end) are all easy to access with only a set of spanners (ideally ratcheting), a ratchet, a socket set and two large flat headed screwdrivers to aid removal of the rear exhaust hanger, being required. Some ACF50, or equivalent lubricant wouldn’t go amiss to assist with the exhaust hanger). You can reuse the original gaskets however I bought new just to play it safe.

The part fits perfectly. There are no alignment issues to speak of. It is much lighter than the standard cat/res, and that’s with two thirds of my cat innards missing! As for sound, I have the original manifold and a 2.25” catback with a small resonator just before the single pipe splits into two, then a small back box on either side. The car is a lot bassier than it was previously. Below 3.5k it’s civil, so suitable for early morning/late evening commuting. I wouldn't leave it idling for long though. Above 3.5k the pitch changes, and it gets a fair bit louder. There is also a clear difference between simply cruising and when on the power. This wasn’t as pronounced with the cat. You can still easily hold a conversation while talking at motorway speeds, there is no need to raise your voice unless you are on the throttle. I wouldn’t drive a few hundred motorway miles in a day without some music on in the background, however as I virtually always have music on for long trips, this is not an issue.

Gear changes at high RPM’s are even more of a joy, as before I was mostly listening to engine noise, whereas now the exhaust is guaranteed to pop between virtually all gear shifts when accelerating and changing up at that top end of the rev range, with the occasional flame or two to boot. I’ve not noticed any tangible performance benefit other than the fact the engine now feels a little more eager to rev. Exhaust fumes do make themselves known when sat in stop/start traffic with the wind blowing from the rear and the windows down, however they aren’t as bad as some folk make out, (at least in my opinion), and shutting the windows and turning on the AC sorts that.

I couldn't be happier.

Reading that cheered me right up after the footie. I really believe we're lucky as a community to have a designer/manufacturer/trader like RRP.
