Racing Beat Exhaust Manifold Upgrade

Post by Mazda Rotary Parts » Sun Mar 15, 2009 12:34 pm

We are pleased to announce that we are now taking orders for the superbly made Racing Beat polished stainless steel manifold that can be used to replace the crude cast iron offering currently fitted to your RX-8 that will also offer superior exhaust extraction over the standard manifold.

Please do NOT confuse this with any other brands on the market as Racing Beat have spent over a year ensuring that this manifold will be an efficient quality item that will enhance the performance of the RX-8, as they say, you get what you pay for and whilst not cheap, the quality and engineering build of this product is second to none !

This manifold can be either used to compliment the aftermarket exhaust system you have already brought or can be used as a direct replacement to the standard manifold with no modifications necessary to enable fitment.

Is there much, if any power to be found by changing the exhaust manifold when coupled to a highflow cat (or decat) and a catback system?

Obviously the engine would need mapped to fully take advantage of this, but will it run ok with the standard map?

Your absolutely correct in that with a full remap you would gain maximum power advantage from any mods that are carried out.

But yes this will be fine with the stock map as we have found that the fueling is more than rich enough to cope with induction and exhaust mods that are carried out to the N/A engine and will not lean out and hurt the engine.

With any type of engine effectively only being an air pump, the more efficiently you can get air in and out of an engine will always bring more power,

When you remove restrictive the agricultural cast iron exhaust manifold on the RX-8 and then look at the way this manifold is designed to give the smoothest possible exit for the exhaust gasses anyone can realise that this can only ever give gain to the engine,

I will say that the pictures above really do the workmanship that goes into this manifold no justice as it really is a gorgeous piece of equipment that is a no aggro direct replacement.

So what sort of power gains would you expect to see on a car fitted with a decat, free flowing cat back, RB ram-air intake, remap and the RB manifold vs the same spec but with the oem manifold?

Asked Racing Beat overnight and here you go/

The RX-8 header adds around 3-4 hp, plus a cat removal will give a further 5 hp.
