Ok,.so its worth checking for white spots,.if it is clear of white spots,no need to replace, and just check again after a couple hundred miles??,.sorry for seeking reassurance, i do understand the costs if all goes wrong with the coils but nearly £400(all inclusive) to replace all necessary ignition components,.wont wash with her  if its not absolutely necessary.,.as much advice as possible please

Remember prevention is better than the cure, if the coils have been on for a while then it's worth changing them before they become an issue.

Ours has got the dreaded "white spot" and is still hesitant sometimes, despite new plugs and leads, so here goes another £240...

Had a coil-pack go on my car this morning (car started running like crap on-and-off halfway to work, before dying completely shortly afterwards). Recovered to the Mazda dealer, who diagnosed one shot coil. Of course, they wanted an arm and a leg for it - £107 inc. VAT!

Called up MRP, got 4 coils and some leads sent out straight to the dealer for next day. Great price, great service! =D>

The ironic thing is, I was thinking of getting new coils all-round at the next service anyway and would probably have ordered some soon.
