I'm nearly fully stripped out though, I'm sure that makes a difference to the speed I can keep through the corners. There's not much in it on the straights. Really enjoyed the day. Went so quickly, but I only got there at 9!

I think they were a bit slow on radio communication. When I drove into the pull in the marshal asked if we were ok, then called it in that we were off the track. Which took less than 20 seconds from the time I came to a stop. I think the control room enjoys putting the red flags out imo.

Just to say, what a thoroughly enjoyable day - with some old friends and some new ones (though I'm terrible with names, so don't be embarassed if I ask you on our next meeting!) :)

Huge thanks to the team for organising such a great event!

My raw videos are in the process of being uploaded to YouTube. I got Harry's working for the first time, so that is busy processing the overlays for the videos which I'll upload later... I'll put links in here when finished.

Session 1 (RX8OC Exclusive):

Session 2 (Almost Exclusive to 6 or 7 cars, with passenger!):

Session 3:

P.S. If anybody can hear the "low rumble" noise I get - mostly at speed (80MPH+) - sounds like a wobbly Exhaust - or bushes or wheel bearing?
Please help diagnose! It's getting on my tits!

That was a good day out, thanks Chris and everybody else involved in all the arranging and organising etc. =D> Caren and Rachel for the bacon roll as soon as I got there, much appreciated, whoever made/brought the cakes (delicious :thumright: ) and especially John for donating one of your burgers to me - it was lovely and much needed. :thumleft: Good to see everybody as always and to meet those I haven't met before. :D

My body clock has gone completely up the wall now. I stopped on my way home for a short while at Membury services for a rest, then again at Reading (I didn't wake Nigel up - he was there having a kip) and got home at about 9pm. After messing on the computer for a couple of hours I clearly dozed off and woke up at about 6am with a very stiff neck, thought it wasn't worth going to bed as I'd had a sleep already, saw the error of my ways when I woke up again with an even stiffer neck and went to lie down 'just for an hour or two' and then it was suddenly 9pm. #-o

Dis you check the car how I told you to? this would have proved if your problem was a wheel bearing

Hi Clive, the noise emanates most at speed... it pretty difficult to find a corner I can attack at 80+, but I’ll take a careful listen to the videos. On track it’s more difficult to hear with the helmet on too!

Whilst clearing up we found a black hoody L size where the octagonal gazebo was and also a vacuum tester pump kit in a red box. If these are yours please let me know and I will get them back to you somehow.
Vacuum tester (actually a brake bleeder) is mine. Despite double checking I knew I’d forget something! Need to tidy up my car kit packing!

Could it be airspeed related e.g. a loose front edge on the underside panel below the bumper?

JDM Castle Combe Sat 2nd June 2018

Post by GreySilver Beast » Mon Jun 04, 2018 6:20 pm

What a fantastic day we all had and was extremely hot =D>

On behalf of the rest of the Events Team and Committee a Special Thanks should go to ChrisHolmes for his origination skills of putting the whole Event together after taking it over from the previous Events Coordinator =D> =D> =D> =D>

Sorry to say GSB can be very particular (Anal) on how you park your cars on our Club Stands  , but hope you appreciated his endeavors :!:

A Big Thanks goes to Caren and Rachel for all your hard work in the Kitchen on the day and for the various Cakes from our Members =D>

Caren was presented from Nigel (GSB) on behalf of the whole RX-8OC a bottle of Archers Peach Schnapps as a Special Thank You for all the hard work she does at our various Events up and down the UK :thumleft:

I hope you all agree with the Team that she is absolutely fantastic and was well deserved :P

We were so glad to see so many happy faces on the day all enjoying themselves and great to see our Club Cars out on the Track showing the Public why you all own them =D>

Next year we are going bigger

So all that remains to be said once again many thanks for supporting your Car Club as without you we wouldn't exist :thumleft:

Oh yes, well deserved Caren and Rachel, thanks for cooking my bacon breakfast roll and making me feel welcome :thumright:

GSB was a bit anal with the parking (understandable), maybe more Red cars next year to break up the darker colours? :-k every 5th car in the row has to be Red, followed by one custom colour in the centre of it all (challenge)?

On the subject of missing items, there was a melon themed bag that somebody brought with them that I found in the gazebo and subsequently licked to rightfully claim it as my own.

Upon returning to the stand at the end of the day, it appeared to be missing.

I can only assume there was some kind of mistake and the original owner took it with them. If they could return it back into my custody then no hard feelings yeh?
