***Club Stand Instructions***

Welcome to the RX-8OC Family Event of the Year

We will require you all to meet us at "Tesco Superstore, Sizer Way, Dibden, Hythe, Southampton SO45 5JA" so as we can Convoy in and make a statement :thumright: (One year we caused a big traffic jam in the area Image )

Therefore please arrive at Tesco anytime between 7am to 7.45am and we will be leaving for Beaulieu at 7.55am sharp so as we can just drive straight in without touching the Holding Area in the Beaulieu Car Park :!:

When you arrive at Tesco please do not over rev your cars as the place is surrounded by residential housing and we do not want to upset the neighbours :!:

Immediately behind Nigel's car will be the support cars for the Event (Ian.M, Jackie.M, casey, ChrisHolmes, HumaneHobgoblin, Team Pat) so please allow them to group up behind him first, before you all join the Convoy :thumleft:

Azam will hold up all the traffic so as you can follow each other in convoy, so please stay tightly together so as the convoy doesn't get split up :!:

Once we get to the Club Stand Nigel will then tell you where to park so please wait for him to get out of his car  . When parking you please let Nigel know if you need to leave early otherwise you may be blocked in and have to wait for the owner of the car to return back to the Club Stand :!: :!:

We will be putting 2 Club Gazebo's up so plenty of room to shelter from the heat =D> , please remember to bring your chairs :thumright:

Azam, Claire & Events Team are supplying all the Food and Drink on behalf of the Club this year and will be plenty for everyone, so hopefully will cut all that cost down for you Image , as Beaulieu is very expensive to buy food and drink at :x

Claire has put in a request if you have a Cool Box or Cool Bag can you please bring it with you so as we can borrow it for the Food, plus if you have a Portable Table can we borrow that as well =D>

Once we are set up there will be Bacon Rolls for Mid-Morning Breakfast and then a Buffet for Lunch along with Cakes and Cream Tea in the Afternoon. Throughout the day Hot & Cold Drinks will be available on the Stand as well as Snacks & Sweets, so make sure you bring along a Mug =D>

Many thanks to those members who are baking cakes for this event as it's most appreciated by the Events Team =D>

"Message for MRC & FBOC"
If anyone here wants to partake of the RX-8OC refreshments is welcome to do so for just £5 p/person for the day (you'd pay more than that for a bacon buttie & coffee at Beaulieu :!: ). Let us know when you arrive if you wish to partake and Malcolm will collect cash on behalf of the Club Treasurer =D>

All that leaves to be said is have a fantastic day at Beaulieu and make this the best ever Event of all time =D> =D> =D> =D>

Events Team

Last Entry in is 8.55am for all Club Cars, as the Show opens to the Public at 10.00am and no movement of cars are allowed after this time :!:

If you arrive after 9am then the chances are you will have to park in one of the Public Car Parks Image

The Beaulieu Events Organisers would prefer everyone arrives in their Club Convoys as it's easier to park on the Club Stand Areas, hence why we are asking everyone to meet at Tesco :!: :!:

This has worked for the last 4 years

It's a little damp in West Sussex this Morning, although it's still very warm at the same time :!:

Ice packs are now in the Cool Box and I have put my coat in the car as well and hopefully that will ward off most of the Rain :thumright:

Looking forward to seeing everyone today and do have a fantastic day despite what the weather may bring us :thumleft:

See you all in just over 2 hours time

Well it was a bit wet, and tools us over 3 hours to get there. rather annoyed that half the committee decided to leave with all the kit without posting anything about it on here or Facebook. A little bit of communication goes a long way!
Chaps I understand that the weather was against us but one of you should have posted something that the coffee and snacks were off. We would have then been able to make alternative arrangements before arrival.
Still a good day out if a little cold and wet.

What time did you get there Gary :?:

Gazebos were not allowed on the day,for safety reasons, due to high winds #-o

People were stood out in the pouring rain (not me I remained in the car ) for the best part of an hour & were thoroughly soaked...I would imagine the last thing on their minds was posting on the Internet :p

Some remained & looked around the museum, which opened @ 10am,the rest left in an attempt to find somewhere suitable to pitch the gazebos & make a day of it regardless of the weather :salut:

Was a nice surprise to see Jazz there :D

Apologies to everyone I didn't say hello to...warm,dry car or pouring rain :?: :-k

I did actually get out for a coffee

Regards,Mark.

Point noted regarding posting something and I apologise on behalf of the events team for the oversight.
On H&S grounds the organisers had withdrawn all permissions to pitch gazebos or have flags as extremely strong winds were forecast for ouch time and this was confirmed by the senior steward ( I think that's who he said he was) in charge of the car marshalling.
The organisers I spoke to said the rain was expected to last all day but the last time I checked with the BBC late Sat night it was forecast to stop after lunch. Never trust the locals in hindsight!

Hopefully those folks that stayed or arrived after we left experienced an end to the rain in the early afternoon. As I went up the M27 around 13:30 the rain lessened and after Winchester it was dry.

We left about 2pm, after fixing my power steering in the rain. Home safe and sound, and amazingly parked outside my house given that thousands of people are walking up and down my road attending Upfest.

Over two commons and into a deserted at park was our destination. We had great fun putting the gazebo up in the wind and rain in the lee of a bank and some trees.
Parked an RX-8 at each corner and tied a guy rope to a wheel and we were in business with Karen and Claire cooking away like mad.
Mihail brought in the amazing cupcakes Jennie had made which all had a Japanese flag on them. I think someone took a photo of them.
