Big thanks to all the organisers, today was a great event! Managed a 1:28 in the last session and pretty happy with that for my first time round Combe. Good meeting you guys and see some of you at Tunerfest in 2 weeks time!

What a turnout, defintely something to be proud of I think. Thanks all. =D>

There's just too many people at this event, it's impossible to catch up/meet everyone! I did at least manage quite a few this time though.

Huge thanks to all the team doing the organising, I do see a lot of what goes on, and it is a lot! Keep the pics flowing, the more the merrier. :D

p.s. I got caught the sun again. I honestly think I could get sunburnt in a cave.. #-o

Most of these are already up on Facebook.. great day, weather didn't dump on us,walked endlessly and still didn't see everything

I make it a point never to photograph our cars at an event - why would I?..I know what RX8's look like - so instead, here's some other goodies from today.

Excellent photos from everybody for what was an excellent day. =D> Like John I also seem to have caught the sun ... this is a concern given I usually avoid daylight - I knew I should have put on a hat. #-o

Thanks to everybody who came and made it what it was and for the great company, to our ever willing chefs and especially to Pete and the members of the Events Team who did all the hard work in advance and behind the scenes. =D>

On the subject of the Events Team, as Pete has already posted above, Nigel will be undergoing surgery in the morning. I have posted this elsewhere on the forum in the members area, but I think it is worth repeating here (the quote is how Nigel described it to me in a text):
Shagrington wrote:As many of you who were at JDM Combe today were aware, having worked so hard in helping to organise the day and set up the stand etc Nigel had to leave early to try to get home as he was feeling (and looking) decidedly unwell. He called into an A&E on his way home and it has now become apparent that he was feeling and looking so unwell because he really was unwell. :(

Nigel will be undergoing "urgent surgery" in the morning at East Surrey Hospital and I am sure you will all join me in wishing him the very best and a speedy recovery or in sending your prayers on his behalf. [-o<
Just to add my personal thanks to Wagner for taking the provisions etc Nigel would have normally taken and saving me having to rent somewhere to store them temporarily.

couple of my vids...lost sess3..somehow...

Apologies to Ian M...for not getting Brad to you for sess 2...had a massive oil surge/burp...( burge) in session 1 and went back to the trailer to clean the mess up....filled the catch tank and then leaking down right hand side of chassis onto rear tyre and exhaust...hence the smoke on track...did not know at time...saw the smoke but thought all gauges in good zone keep on going.... only just made to pitlane for sess 2.

I had a distinct advantage on track of massive 255 888's , 6 pot AP's and about 120 hp! so thank you guys for moving out of the way and i really hope you thought i reciprocated by not hassling you in the corners and waiting for safe place to overtake...i just hanged back but in all fairness the 8 in the corners has the edge with some of the faster guys on track...Brad was most impressed with there corner speeds which were basically the same as i was doing. he know wants a track car!!!

shame i lost sess 3 as at Tower had a massive movement proper sideways just passed apex...really thought going into tyres backwards but as my foot was still buried in the fired wall and i put on massive lock it gripped and corrected....boxers in the wheely bin movement.

Good day out yesterday, excellent Rotary turn out, wowed by Chris's RX-3 which had never been to any event before and the organisers picked out their 25 best of show cars for a parade lap which included 4 Rotarys  .

Also wonderful to see so many RX-8's out in their natural habitat showing everyone how good these cars are out on track =D> .

Here's a couple I took but I know Ann and Neil took some great shots which hopefully will be posted later.

I saw that from down past the exit of Bobbies. No photos of it (but i do have a couple of photos of you from sessions 2 & 3 - see page 2) but even from that distance away it was obvious it was a big moment and caused me to turn to the missus and go " :censored: me ... he nearly lost it there!".

Does anyone know of a site that logs previous track times of standard cars, i was just wandering how far off from other standard civics i was as its hard to compare against rx8 as its clearly superior in handling and power/weight and rwd. Second time out my friend recorded 3 consecutive laps all at 1.45 which is slow compared to an rx8 but intrested to see what other civics have got in past if there is a site that logs such things. Ive had a quick google but not finding much. Not that i was racing btw i didnt even know he was recording the laps. At least im consistent

My mate recorded a 1:31.47 in his EP3, though he does run an intake, coilovers Ferodo pads + bremtech disks and was also running Nankang NS2's

this was his first day of track time though and recorded in his 3rd session (i think)
Thanks, Stu

Hard to compare with an ep3 also as they are better track cars being lighter, more agile with rear independent suspension etc and track tyres too. So about 14 sec behind that. Room for improvement. I dont feel i pushed the road tyres anywhere near theyre limit but would have felt more comfortable with A008 on which will be on for next year. It is what it is, the fn2 isnt an all out track car like the ep3 or rx8 but when i have a 6 hour journey, like yesterday, home as i live so far from everywhere the fn2s dual zone climate, cruise control, auto everything electrical and armrest make it a bit more of an allrounder for me. The upside is my friend some of you met yesterday after seeing so much fun times on track wants a toy to come play with us too. So he is searching for cheap rx8 or ep3 whichever comes first into salvage yard. There was a nice r3 otherday that went for like 1400. If i wasnt moving house that would of been in my garage next to civic bein repaired too.

I had been thinking recently about trading up to a 231, yesterday changed my mind and i want to start working to improve my car even more than the minor brake upgrade and ghetto cat that i already have.

want to start saving for some PZ wheels, PZ suspension and some sort of Ebay catback.
Thanks, Stu
