I find people turn in 2 early i go deeper and go up the inside...if no traffic do the same but more throttle and allow the car to go out wider....tower is the scary 1...off camber and bump and smallest run off...but the most fun!. Glad you had fun thats what its all about!

I think you were very lucky as people knew you were much quicker they just got out of the way as I did too . I only done the last session and thoroughly enjoyed it . I just found people in the same car didn't like easing off for you to pass on the straight . It's just me having a whinge , ultimately as the guy said in the briefing , passing is with consent only . If you don't want to , you don't have to let them past .

Thad what I have been told Drew , I'm not 100% . Nevertheless , the finger pointing and closing of the track would have been a harsh pill to swallow so I'm happy it happened on the M4

No they don't charge you for cleaning up
They do at the Ring which is where a lot of people get the idea from.

^^Yes Adam (I hope I remembered that right!), what was the problem with your car? I heard what had happened and that you were waiting for the recovery truck. Hoping the issue was literally not as bad as it sounded (internal engine issue :( )

Late to the party as I had a houseful of guests arrive for the weekend about 30 minutes after I got back from Combe on Saturday :D

Firstly, thank you to everyone for the videos, pictures and comments. The videos and pictures really capture the day well and will be a reminder of a great day out with a huge number of Club members (plus some of their families too!). This event does really have it all, our friendly Club Members, a great venue, good track-side position, awesome cars and the opportunity for track action if you want it (almost forgot to say the food too - those Lemon cakes were superb Caren :thumleft: ).

For the record, we had just over 80 cars come along to the joint RX-8 OC and MRC stand area and 38 cars took to the track. Well done to those who took to the track for the first time, even if you only did it this once, at least you have experienced what it's like to drive an RX-8 on a circuit =D>

I'm sure I speak for of Pete and the rest of the events team to say that your comments (so far at least ;) ) make all the hard work of arranging and managing this annual pilgrimage to Combe worthwhile. To see people arrive and enjoy the day gives us great satisfaction. We'll need to start the early work of organising next year's event in a few weeks

My thanks to Mpv2K3 (Marc), Lemon (Stu) and SeeJay (Jay) for volunteering to help me out at the start of the day with all the setting up and parking up as the convoys arrived :thumleft:

Thanks also to all those who kindly did some catering throughout the day =D> , my morning bacon roll (thanks for taking my food order Pat :thumleft: ) was most welcome as I'd had to leave the hotel before breakfast service started.

Personally, I had a great day out, doing just 2 sessions on track with my newly run-in engine, which performed flawlessly throughout the entire weekend, so I'm really chuffed. I went out in sessions 1 and 3 and thought the track etiquette was excellent. I hope I didn't upset anyone by getting too close behind a few people on the exits of corners

It was great to speak to so many old and new faces and apologies to those I didn't get to speak to, the day just seemed to fly by :D

Well done to HighlandR3 (Tom) for driving all the way down from Scotland, I hope you found the long trip worthwhile.

My last words must go the express my wish that GSB (our Nige) makes a speedy recovery and is back to his old self again really soon.

I've been fairly quiet forum wise as I've been non-stop since leaving for Combe Saturday morning!

Thank you to everyone for their time organising things, assisting during the day and just generally making the RX8 OC one of the best groups of people I've come across.

Also, an additional thank you to both NeilParry and Chris Holmes for the brake pad support! :D

I'll be going through all my photos (my friend and I took a staggering 500 on Saturday!) and uploading a select few of them. If you were on track and want me to dig out specific pictures of your car then let me know which one it is and I'll have a dig - burst mode was used a fair bit, so there are multiples lol - he was trying to catch the fire I believe... ;)

Thanks again and thank you to everyone uploading pics and vids, makes it great to relive the day all over again!

My track vids will be edited and uploaded soon enough, too!

Showoff... (says the man who shoots flames from his exhaust... :P)

I'll sort the vids and then they will be available through a Google Photos shared album, so anyone is welcome to download them/ view them etc. I just need to trim them a touch as there's like 5-6 minutes sat in the pits on some of them :D

EDIT: Google Photos Album: https://goo.gl/photos/NZvtL2RX5uH31U5KA

Lots more pictures, but just a small selection to start with. Not happy with the editing, but you win some, you lose some

Just like to say a big shout out to the organisers and all the members for making it such a good day. the weather had a big part too. and nice to meet up with some members.

Also like to thank Wayne mrspiller for lending me and my son Tom his car to abuse for the day

They were great sessions and put in some good times considering we've not driven Combe before

And thanks to Dan.NJ72 for a great passenger ride in session 4 a great drive with a best time of the day for him @ 1,25.0 and a burned out set of pads to boot.

Looking forward to the next event as long as I get my car sorted before hand

Did anyone see the civic flame out of intrest? It was popping and burbling like a good one, the pipe is quite far back from the triangle trim in bumper though which looks nice and black now.

Here's my footage of session 3. Lots of flames as I was being overtaken. As mobile chicanes go I hope I wasn't to much of a problem, and moved out of the way in time. I had a blast what a great day.
