The Civic was...impressive.

The half cage had done its job pretty well and kept the driver from becoming a pancake. From anecdotal experience of rolling fully caged 4x4s the cage not deforming will have shunted most of the energy from the roll into the surrounding panels, hence the horrible "tin can" rip down the sides of the roof.
We did similar on a Defender we end overed onto its roof. At first glance, bodywork etc was ok. On closer inspection one of the chassis outriggers had been snapped off by the force because the cage mounted to it!

Is this one a member on here? I was watching the track session and this one sounded really interesting. It had a sort of low booming sound. Quite unlike most 8s. I just wondered what exhaust was under there?

No, he isn't on here (my skills of persuasion have been sadly lacking so far  ) - that belongs to Luke Murdoch and he is in Guildford. You can find him on Facebook under Murdoch's Rotary Spares. I can't remember what exhaust he said he has on it.

Borla catback and straight through custom decat with standard manifold. He usually has a custom single exit catback which is really loud hence the borla to try to quiet it down a bit for the track.

Thanks James - you have to love the sound of a Borla 8) I did wonder as it is usually louder when he arrives at Cobham.

It Was a really good day and I didn't end up a lobster! :thumleft:

God help anyone who parks on our clubstand uninvited though :finger:

I've been working double shifts so haven't had time to edit my dash cam footage yet

Below is un-edited footage............with very annoying bleeping alarms throughout as my dashcam decided to throw a fit lol #-o

I haven't even managed to watch it all the way through.

Well done Marc
Some nice smooth laps there for your first time around Brands.
You can easily see the improvement as you learn the circuit.
It's a pity we only get 15 mins but it's a great day out.
Keep the pics and vids coming guys
Pete

I totally agree.....my first few laps I was struggling with my gears and braking but as the laps went by i started to find my feet.

I started with 1.34 lap times and ended up with getting down to 1.04 and then the session was over but it gave me a taster for my track day in December

A 1:04 is good for your first ever 15 mins around Brands.
I can see that your car pulls strong on the straights as well
