Ah yes, magic moment of the day... Me to that bloke who parked his V8 dodge on our stand "I say old chap, would you kindly remove your vehicle from our (paid for) club stand?"...
Seconds later... Conan: "OY!! [edited]! MOVE! THAT! [edited]! HEAP! OF! sh*t!! NOW!!"

I didn't know whether to laugh or run & cry! :) :)

After some squaring up with Pete in the paddock (blokes mate, though mouthy seemed reluctant to get involved)... Said bloke throws his toys out of the pram and rather childishly tries to leave a set of 11s as he races off across the paddock!

I rather though that he'd hunt you down Pete, and we'd see you cable-tied to his grill like the bear in Toy Story 3 as he left the site... ;)

Was a good day despite my aversion to static car shows, but the interest for me lay in the track action from the Time Attack crowd, the cars on display in the pits and the extreme that some of the 'teams' go to was for me an eye opener. Some had full telemetry and a shed load of spares etc. along with their own hospitality.

One thing not mentioned so far is that PeteH came first in class with a time of 57.472 =D> although I have no idea of his overall position among all the classes, despite searching the net.

As said static shows leave me a bit cold but what did appeal was the Hummer hearse, a Koenigsegg, an Ultima and a nice Exige.

Our track session was somewhat spoilt by a Ford RS2000 that held up a procession of RX8's, myself included, although uncharacteristically my car felt unsettled through Clearways (but could have been my playing with different damping forces) so will be looking at drop links possibly, or then again my driving.

Was going to remark about the reliabilty of RX8 engine swaps but not nice to see any car implode. #-o

On the whole a good day in good company once again :thumleft: and a chance to see some old (literally  ) and some new faces.

Thanks Ray. Good of you to pop by at the end (And good to see so many of the rest of you in the pits as well). My partner asked what car you were driving. She said it was so modified she didn't recognize it as an 8 8) . It always looks bad to compare my times with other classes, because I'm in the slowest class! But for reference, in the qualifying there were 7 cars from higher classes that went slower than me. In the final there were five cars from higher classes that went slower than me. I was particularly happy to get within 2.5 seconds of the very heavily modified Golf Type R in Club Pro (he's running slicks etc.)

I had fun with that in the Supercar session. I'm not sure he would have got past if I hadn't eased off down the straight. It was also the only SuperCar to overtake me. (I'm not saying they were pushing, but you still have to smile :P )

I will do my usual update at some point, but I want to get my video footage uploaded, and since we are straight into Donington this Saturday time is a bit tight....

Thanks for all those who organised, had to leave slightly earlier than I'd wanted due to prior commitments.
Took a couple of photo's of some other RX-8's that weren't on the stand, the large wing on the back suits the RX-8 quite well.

Have a clip from my dashcam, unfortunately the external mic I mounted on the rear bumper detached it's self from the dictaphone in the boot so it's only got the tinny audio from the built in dashcam mic.
Drove quite sedately as I still had budget (£45) tyres on due to loosing the locking nut so couldn't switch to my Dunlops and also was wary of what happened last time I was at Brands in December, the crash in the next public session was quite sobering!
