RotaryStock 2017 (Holland): Sat 1 July

Post by Clive » Sun Jan 01, 2017 7:50 pm

As some of you will know Rotary Stock has run for a few years now and held on an every-other-year basis and RotaryStock 2017 will be held on Sat 1 July in Lelystad, Holland, a short drive form the ferry ports.

The event itself has something for everyone with not only a proper Rotary show but track action as well (two of our RX-8's took track awards last year)

We do not view this as "club event" only and any Rotary owners are made welcome making this a sociable event for everyone, with not only the Rotary event itself where you will be welcomed beyond belief by true Rotary enthusiasts from all over Europe with language absolutely no barrier what so ever, as you will find the term "like minded" people really works here

For the non-event day we always catch the train into Amsterdam for a day out normally with a canal trip.

I'm sure Tony, chosen as current Rotarystock Best in Europe RX-8 title holder will post on here what a wonderful time he has along with all who attend :thumright:

This will be the fourth time Lisa and myself have attended and to get there depending on where you live you can either Ferry across from Hull as some are doing or via the Shuttle from Folkstone.

For a taster with what to expect see below for footage from the 2015 event

Please let us know your hotel and travel arrangements and I will update the listing so we know who is travelling and where members are staying.

We are also likely to be going to this event on Sunday 2nd July, should any one wish to attend. It looks a bit like a Dutch version of the Goodwood "Festival of Speed" event being held in the UK on the same date :D

Thanks Nigel, yes we all had a great time thank you.

Much has been written about Rotarystock already (on MRC) but we actually had two "Rotary car days" with all the great people from both sides of the English "moat"

Wonderful day as always at Rotarystock but also a great day out at International Concours d’élégance at Palace Het Loo :great:

Wow, not only did we see staggeringly good selection of Rotary cars on the Mazda stand with an RX-7 Gen 1 , Gen 2 and Marcel's RX-5 but also the super super rare front wheel drive 130 Luce with an even rarer 13A engine.

This car had been in England for may years and Mazda Netherlands bought it for 25K then spent a huge 100K bringing the whole car back to as new by a Netherlands Classic car restoring company.

Turned out that many from Rotarystock were also at this event as well to see these cars :).

Then outside the Palace courtyard itself was a gorgeous 1967 Cosmo as part of the exotic Japanese car offering, with one of the famed Merc Rotary's nearby.

The other thing that staggered was the amount of Monte Carlo style money with more super rare Ferrari's , etc,etc than even the Goodwood Festival of Speed has ever mustered.

What a wonderful two days with such wonderful people ( such a shame we only took three RX-8 in the shape of Malcolm Aston and myself over to the land where RX-8's are so rare :( )
