No need to worry Sam, we plan to have two kettlesSeriousSam wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 6:45 pmNigel, Best double check that you've packed that kettle. I can bring my spare if needed, we'll be getting through a vast quantity of tea at that rate
Any more and we'd risk blowing the supply trips in the garage I reckon
I aim to bring 4 litres of fresh milk, and can always get more at the lunch-break if needed

ITV forecast at odds with the BBC's as usual with sun mostly all day. Met Office say 10% chance of precipitation at around 9am until noon.
With those temperatures will have to work the tyres harder.

He has, I've just paid him for it. Presumably it has to be made official with the organisers, but all being well I'll see everyone bright and early on FridayChrisHolmes wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 8:59 pmNot sure if Cabriolet has managed to offload his booking or not, get in there and set the alarm early or come and spoon with me at the Mercure on Thursday night!!!!
Never driven Brands before. I've always been slightly wary of a few of the corners, so happy to buddy with someone who knows their way around for the early stints if that can be organised.

Re: ***TRACKDAY, Brands Hatch Indy, Fri 1st Dec***
I'll be there on Friday (not driving sadly) but will bring a helmet in case I can scab a lap as passenger with anyone in exchange for charging mobile phones, helping change pads/wheels, making tea, giving back rubs etc.
I'll be sneakily filming when possible, just for fun and unrelated to my day job. But feel free to let me know on the day if you'd rather I avoid capturing you/your car.
Looking forward to meeting those who don't come to the Essex meets.

Re: ***TRACKDAY, Brands Hatch Indy, Fri 1st Dec***
I'm about to double-check my car and pack all my gear. Looks like the journey down and early part of the day on track will be wet, so I can't be bothered to change my Falken road tyres over to my well worn Federals, even though the Feds should be much better for the latter part of the day. No lap records for me tomorrow then
Just a quick repeat of a post I put up a few pages back, for anyone that missed it:
"For those new to trackdays, as long as your car is well maintained, has some good meat left on the brake pads (front in particular) and has some good tread on the tyres then you are good to go for 10-15 minute track sessions with a good cooling off in between (15-30 minutes). If you can, take a spare set of brake pads. They'll be plenty of jacks/tools available amongst the group to borrow, should you need them on the day to change pads. Don't forget to bring your locking wheelnut key though!!
Many of us are "old hands" to trackdays and to Brands, but it's never good to get complacent . I can remember one sprint event when a very experienced driver turned up at the start line without his helmet on (no names but he's never been allowed to forget it )
So, anyone needs a recap, there is plenty of general stuff to read on the "Trackday info & FAQ's" forum area here:
viewforum.php?f=169
Plus a specific guide to Brands Hatch here:
viewtopic.php?f=169&t=61972
Finally, I've produced a One Page summary briefing for the day with all the key details you should need:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/b5qkgtse2c4ah ... f.pdf?dl=0
If there are any unanswered questions, once you've read that lot, then post up here or PM me."

Yes, boosted is correct, make sure you have sunglasses as the low sun forecast pm has been quite troublesome in past years!
I have a few self adhesive "Novice Driver" stickers (Black Cross on Yellow Background). If anyone would like one to stick on the back of their car, just ask me tomorrow.
If you can bring a mug that would be good, as we may run short, I think we've got 28 people coming!
Don't forget £10 cash for the garages (all drivers, except TerryH, who's already paid and owed £20 from the proceeds ).

Re: ***TRACKDAY, Brands Hatch Indy, Fri 1st Dec***
Is there power in the garages? If so I'm happy to bring my small workshop blow heater for anyone to have for the day.
If not I'll keep it at home to save it rolling around the boot unnecessarily.
