As for the diagnosis of "the fuel pumps knackered" when the engine cut on you exiting Goddards thats invaluable information and I can hopefully borrow your pump ring tool to sort mine out soon. due you your cornering tips I was taking the Melbourne hairpin a lot faster later on and the fuel pump issue appeared again accelerating up toward Goddards.
A little comment in red from me.Bulldog wrote:Well done to Pete for promoting this and negotiating the price. Circuit days were very 'relaxed' as were the marshals.
I will put a write up in my thread. Thanks for the pictures Rodger very good!
I am going to fit a new pump. I will let you know how it goes. Only had fuel cut at Mallory and Goodwood.
This was the honda that kissed, more like snogged! the tyre wall. The clio that went on its roof was a write off.
Fuel at around 1/2 to 3/4 and also got it cutting out exiting Melbourne.tractorboy wrote:Have a look at this from about the 4th post in this page:ChrisHolmes2014 wrote:

Quite a few of us have diagnosed pump failure after a track session, replaced the pump, and then found we still have a problem. I was particularly unlucky as my failed new pump cost me trackday (500 mile round trip, hotel, meal) and a cat!
Not really sure what to advise in your case. What was your fuel level at the time?

This makes interesting reading it's seems to be a siphon from the right to left tank issue.tractorboy wrote:Have a look at this from about the 4th post in this page:ChrisHolmes2014 wrote:

Note to Nigel, your rear number plate is not level, lets the image down!Smedley wrote:Feel free anyone. Chris kindly let me use his camera. Must get a digital SLR soon, had fun using it. Of course ragging around in an RX8 of my own would have been great!!

Thanks Chris, that's interesting. Looks like the solution is to fit a modified S2 (R3) pump assembly and the DIY guide is here:ChrisHolmes2014 wrote:
