Not a bad idea Drew. What i can do is discuss it with our reliable regulars on Friday.
I would also encourage some of the out of range members to post here who they are and whether they would they be interested in a venue closer to them, a reaction to this question may influence our future plans.
Over the years we have built up a firm group of reliable friends who turn up when they say yes, but always inform us if they can't attend.
Another idea may be to start another meet in a location you think may be popular, i for one could fit in 2 meets a month.

Having thought about this i may have a solution.
As is always the case, if you move a meet closer to others it then becomes further for others. We chose our venues so that one of them is close to at least one of our regulars every 3 months.
What may be an idea would be for one of the (Others) to suggest and start a meet that is convenient for them and fellow members in their area.
I for one would welcome a meet in Wales, and i would be happy to attend.

I attempted that already Rob, we have a member with a blue s1 near elsemere port, Silviu from Manchester was interested as he likes coming into Wales, plus me and another black s1 from Colwyn bay. Unfortunately it never took off. It was winter though, so perhaps a tester would be worthwhile again.

I am as guilty for the N.Wales tester not working as I think the other issue is my limited time to attend up, here as it has to be weekends for me.

The Oxford one I organise always has strong turnout, which is midweek when I'm in Oxford and I do sometimes think people actually have more spare time on weekday evenings when Family, children, life plans are not as much of a concern. You go to work and on way back stop for a social. Surprisingly easier than, as with myself, plans with friends, birthdays for family, family day outs, errands and upkeep etc that we all plot in for those brief 2 days a week not taken up with work.

Going forwards, we will need someone to update the RX8OC calendar for 2025 to include a link to the topic as it is currently. We will come up with a list of the venues starting with January 2025, the dates never change, 2nd Friday of the month. We will post the list here in a rolling order, thanks rob.

Having discussed this with our regulars, i would like to announce a new venue on this topic. In an attempt to make sure that at least one venue is close to a different guest each time , our new venue in the Shropshire meet is The Red Lion, Wrexham Road, Marchwiel, Nr Wrexham. LL13 0PH.
This is clearly shown on page one and replaces The Cross Keys, Sellatyn. We shall test this out before committing it to the club calendar later on, thanks, rob.

Good morning, The August meet is at our new venue so we could do with some prompt replies here as to whether you can attend.
As it's new to us, i would like to give them as much notice as possible, so please reply to this as soon as you are able, thanks, rob.

When my son gets home i will ask him to produce a new map of this meet to reflect the recent changes to the venues.

Here we have the new venue map for the Shropshire meet courtesy of my son. All locations are shown with a 40 mile radius as before, but the new venue puts many more urban areas within easy reach. We look forward to welcoming members who have now become much closer to this.

Thanks Dave, page one updated. As this is a venue that is new to us, i shall contact them with numbers about a week out.
With this new venue being much closer to many urban areas, are there any other takers for this as it was chosen to include as wide a spread as was practical so that distances are kept to a minimum. thanks, rob.
