BUMP

Ok guys and gals, on Wednesday morning me and the good lady will be doing my final recce for this meet. The exact meeting point, the route, a nice photo shoot opportunity (Traquair House maybe), somewhere for lunch and if you're up for it a bit of competition putting in Moffat  (might be a laugh).

This will take a bit of effort so c'mon folks get your name on the list :bounce: :bounce:

I have even ordered some nice crisp sunny January Scottish weather

When I've completed the recce I will attach a document for you all to download with details :D :D

SO GET YOUR FINGERS OUT AND SIGN UP (please)

What a lovely route to go along. The roads are stunning and have been abused by the club already. Here are some tasters of the route as it looked in 2004. Well worth a trip along, but sadly my Panzers and me are otherwise occupied so I won't be along

Hi G Man

Weather permitting, I'll be there next Saturday.

Are the Edinburgh area cars meeting up locally for the journey down to Peebles?....'cos I'll get lost!

Specman, thanks for the photo's. Apologies to those that have already been on part/all of this route. I have pm'd (well my 15 yr old daughter/secretary has) all those with a Scottish address from the members list regarding the meet 8) . This invite also goes out to any North of England members aswell  A few of whome are coming already, many thanks :D .

ggaffney just head toward Penicuik and pick up the A701 then A703 takes you right into Peebles and is a fantastic route on its own.

Lets try and at least match the 10 Rexs of the previous meet down here :D

Stop it! You guys are making this a very miserable Monday morning for me :( .

Would love to attend but my RX8 left me last year and I fear my 3 year old Focus (1.6LX I'll have you know  ) would not be able to keep up. The old RX8 Scot meets were always fantastic right from the very first meet by the Forth Road Bridge on a very very cold post xmas morning in December 03 (thanks Cliff!). Many a good road, many a beep and many a great day out. Good times.

Enjoy it guys!
Piston free since Nov 03, Couldn't sell the car so have to keep it. Damn! ;)

I've had lots of pm replies from my "mailshot", alas all either unable to attend or no longer 8 owners. I do hope there will be more than five of us. So come on folks get down to the meet, it's our club and it's us that will make it a success 8) Thanks to all that are attending :D

As a tempter, Braveheart, a former owner contacted me with info on a few items he's selling. He's quite happy to bring the items to the start of the meet to show potential buyers. The list is as follows;

1). 4x RX-8 alloys with Bridgestone Blizzak LM25 winter tyres(225/45x18 v rated) Used last Dec to March, designed to work below 7 degrees C.
2). Hymee stainless steel catback, fitted March '05 to Nov 06.
3). Boot tidy
4). Windscreen sunshield with RX-8 logo.

PM me and I will forward his contact details. No prices have been mentioned either.

Back on topic :D the weather is to be dry with sunny spells on Saturday 8) .SO SIGN UP

I SO enjoyed the Cheshire meet that Daniel has been hounding me senseless to go to this one too. Then the good lady wife & beautiful daughter jumped on the bandwagon to suggest 'lets make a weekend of it - drop us off at a nice hotel first & them pick us up later!'
I am so tempted but the total costs are probably stopping me saying YES
If I don't make it - have a great drive! :D
