Wanted: PZ suspension

Post by meaningking »

My front Pz suspension (front right I believe) has failed meaning my car will be off the road shortly, as it failed the national car test.

Has anybody got or aware of any good used spares or even an unfitted set from the recent group buy I could purchase?

I can promise they would go to a good home :)

So it's the shock that has failed leading to an imbalance at the front

Still looking for a front shock for my PZ as Bigpete’s was a rear unfortunately.

If anyone knows of where I could source one/a set it would be much appreciated.

There were a few PZ owners in the original group buy, either buying for future protection or to replace worn/broken/wrong units fitted.

It's rare for the front damper to fail, so hopefully someone has a least kept a good used one, just in case.

Best of luck with your search xamtex.

Am on the hunt for the coil springs for my PZ. None in Ireland for sure.
Perhaps consider some aftermarket shocks until PZ one's become available / get you past the NCT?

No one, as far as I know is making the actual PZ specification units any more. The group buy was the only production run made in recent years.
Bilstein can rebuild the shock absorbers but the Eibach springs are not available and having flat bases are unique to the PZ suspension. (I may have the flat base info confused with the standard OE design, if so I am sure someone will correct me)

Last time I checked Bilstein charge £80 - £100 + VAT to rebuild a shock.

I got in contact with Bilstein and they were not keen on rebuilding them due to all the import and export duties post brexit.

There should be no duties to pay, if they're receiving and returning your own units.

Those were the rules before we joined the EU.

The paperwork just needs to be completed correctly.

You may even to be able to have the work done without paying local VAT.
