Brake Callipers

Post by Fab66 »

So… Seriously considering turning my brake callipers red, just love the look of it, especially against the white it will really pop I think!

So question for you guys is: Any recommended paint kit and colour to use, anything to look out for or avoid etc whilst applying?

Thanks :thumleft:

You mean like this ;)

If the cars off the road and you can do without them then you can send them off for powder coating and refurb. Mine were 80 quid each. Or buy a set from BiggRed pre done.

If you are not going on track then Red Hammerite Smooth will be fine.
Don’t try to paint the calipers whilst they are bolted on as paint on the pad backing looks bad.

I've used the etec paint from demon tweaks https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/e-tech- ... nt-240250/ and it's held up great to a couple of track days so far. It's brush on but gave a good finish after prepping the surface. That being said, prepping sucked and I'd just send them to bigg red next time. Great service and flawless finish.

Even engine enamels can struggle with brake temperatures on track.

Mine had been yellow for a couple of years on the road but quickly turned to brown after only a few laps.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, though it doesn't really lend itself to the average diy'er

Free postage is to UK mainland only, excluding Scottish Highlands

Please call / Email for a postage quote.

Scottish Islands and Highlands incur a £20.00 postage fee. (2-5 Day Service)

International postage is available, please call / email for a quote.

Is it usual for places to offer delivery to Highlands/Islands for an additional fee, yet still refuse to deliver to NI?

Well, not strictly refuse. But to class it as 'international'.
