Are "Ceramic" detailers any better than old skool?

looks the business and the brand is now available through Frost, who I tend to trust not to sell tat

Re: "Ceramic" Speed Shine
Yes. But one should invest in a ceramic coating and forget these sealers. All say one should not use it on unpolished unperfect surface, but even on such, it will significantly improve the shine, and will make it clean it self almost.
I use Cquartz lite (they last up to 2 years) and is very friendly to apply and you get 3-4 cars amount for like 50$ or you can use Cquartz UK3.0 which is also very friendly and lasts as long.
Have it on all my rims (8 sets) and 3 cars. And none were polished before application.
These ceramic sealers last longer but not as long. Beading is like nothing else. A picture on a dirty tesla ofter a short rain:

Ps: it took me a total of 3h to wash, clay and ceramic coat eash car enjoying a coffee at the same time while doing it.
Pss
The rims clean with pressure washer and pure water better than with hd wheel cpeaner on non coated rims.

I like the guy a lot and his products. Also probably there is no single episode missed from when the chanel has been started (each of them).
But that sealant lasts to short for the "money". Ie, its just as any synthetic sealant

Re: "Ceramic" Speed Shine
I use autoglym ceramic spray after I detail the car, it really is good stuff. Lovely deep shine and the water just slides off the car, 17 euros, win-win

Re: "Ceramic" Speed Shine
I've just put the new diamondbrite ceramic coating on Flos that I acquired from work so was free (should have been £500 just for the kit
) and took almost 3 hours to do it
Normally just go for a hard wax as have never been convinced by expensive ceramics but really happy so far, although not sure I would pay the money to have it done professionally

500£ is nuts. And proven times over and over that they dont last longer or are better.
They need a yearly regime where they refresh the coat when you purchase one with "warranty".

I use Diamond Bright Ceramic Glaze on mine reapplying every 3rd wash easy to apply and remove, like their products.Cscameron wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 10:45 amI've just put the new diamondbrite ceramic coating on Flos that I acquired from work so was free (should have been £500 just for the kit) and took almost 3 hours to do it

Re: "Ceramic" Speed Shine
It's good stuff to be fair so am expecting the new coating to be no different
It's a lifetime warranty (if you buy it and it doesn't just magically appear in your handbag
) so will see how it does
