Re: New toy - ryobi one polisher
Interesting. I've been toying to get a DA, just to help with polishing and waxing, rather than any real correction, as it takes ages by hand.
I was gonna go for the DA8 on in2detailing but this looks interesting. Cordless as well. Thanks for posting... Might check this one out.

I bought the Dewalt version (mainly in their eco system). They are great. Much better than having a cable trailing around you. You will love it!

Re: New toy - ryobi one polisher
Had a quick play today on the Aygo bonnet and roof. Amazeballs. Love it…soooo therapeutic.
Easier to see on the red roof but not so much on the white bonnet.

So polished the 8 with it today (in between rain) and it came up well. Only one photo but all good…

How was the battery life ? Was it fairly comfortable doing the car with minimal battery changes?Stokesyjnr wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 9:05 pmSo polished the 8 with it today (in between rain) and it came up well. Only one photo but all good…

Re: New toy - ryobi one polisher
Battery was fine. Because I stopped halfway through due to the rain, I stuck the battery on charge and put in the 4.0 instead of the 2.0. To be fair, there’s a lot of stopping and starting due to panel/area at a time as well as cleaning the actual pad off, so impressed with the battery life so far. Time will tell thoughv-rex wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 9:13 pmHow was the battery life ? Battery life should be impacted by drag on the motor, which would also be an indication that you're pressing too hard.
The paint on the RX8 is notorious for being soft and thin, as these were one of the first cars to be produced with the first-generation water-based paints; which may or may not be better for the environment but are very easy to wear through, especially on edges/ridges with machine polishers, or even clay bar.
