effect of thinner gearbox oil

Though I remain somewhat sceptical, it's got to be worth my money to try this.

Given the issues I have with changes from 3rd-4th at high speeds on the track, the only other solution would be a replacement 'box.

A used box could be just as bad, in these specific conditions, even if sold in good faith.
It's not worth changing the 'box without also replacing the clutch, given the effort involved.
My clutch is currently fine, even with over 60k on it.

If this oil cures, or even just significantly reduces, the problem then that's a massive result.

If it doesn't then what the hoo, it's only cost the oil change to find out.

Update: Just placed order, using discount code WELCOME20, and was fully expecting a double or triple charge for delivery to NI, but it didn't baulk at the address so, so far so good.

They arrived this morning, along with the Customs Clearance and required copies of the invoice, which still winds me up for a delivery within the UK. At least they didn't charge any extra.

One more job added to the list.

I'll be able to report on how/if it feels any different on the road, though we don't have a date for the next Kirkistown track day.

Shame to say, the two bottles are still waiting on my "To Do" shelf, as other jobs have taken priority.

Looking at changing oil so after this interesting read i wondered whether either Matt or Dave had any further feedback since their last posts? Cheers.

Still on the 70W on mine and that stiff shift from 2nd to 3rd is a distant memory now
now been in there about 4K miles no ill effects to report and it will definitely be my gearbox oil of choice going forward

just do it you won't regret it
