I´m interested in acquiring a software to modify the Ecu of my RX8.
I have seen that there are 2 products: Versatune and Mazdaedit
Versatune works with the versalink usb interface and mazdaedit works with Openport.
I have seen that most of you use Mazdaedit, is it for some reason?
Which one do you recommend?
What advantages or disadvantages does one option have over the other?
I also have a Mazda 3 MPS and in the future I would like to take advantage of the interface
thanks

Re: Versatune vs Mazdaedit
honestly, I have mazdaedit because at the time of purchase versatune wasn't a thing, or at least wasn't known about. and now im stuck with it...
if I where doing it now, id get versatune, if only so you don't have to deal with mazdaedit's 'customer service'

Re: Versatune vs Mazdaedit
I question I get asked alot:
Mazdaedit has a better working interface and from a tuner perspective I prefer to use Mazdaedit, although both capabilities are the same.
VersaTune has a much better customer experience, and now it is compatible with cheaper OBD tools such as OBDLink SX which makes it quite a bit cheaper.
Versatune also allows for Flat foot shifting and a crude launch control something that is only available on Mazdaedit professional.
Note: Do not use the off the shelf tunes in Versatune, they're not great.
