Aux and vdi opening rpm

Post by Paul_13 » Sat Nov 30, 2019 6:42 pm

Now that I pretty much know I won't be getting my warranty ;) so I thought I would post about this.

Is there any benefit of changing the AUX & VDI opening rpm?

I've used the settings that were detailed on the versatune site and I felt there was a bit flat spot where the AUX opening rpm had been put back to 6400rpm and the vdi back to 7700rpm. I can't get my head round why the Versatune does this, as surely you would want more air entering the engine sooner.

Is there benefit to opening the said valves in question earlier? So 6000 rpm for the AUX valves and 7000 rpm for the VDI valve?

My only concern is what controls the initiation of the extra injectors

You only need to mess around with them if you have porting work,

Changing the times means you'll also need to revisit the VE tables and fueling.

The engine has been half bridge ported and the primary ports have been blended /ported

They'll be some benefit in delaying the port opening times. Have a play see how you go.

If the primary is standard the SSV should be left alone but you can have a play with the VDI and APV.
