FDR3
Hello!
It is me posting again in this quiet side of the forum.
From the end of October i am looking to put the car in the workshop yet again looking to chase more power.
I am planning to fit an FD engine to the beast in hope to achieve more poke and save myself from the pain of maf based tunes.
Now....i know there are a few beasts around the country with this setup (none of them R3 i believe) but i did not actually seen or heard of one reliably running and causing chaos on the roads.
I have most of the hardware covered, but i am thinking/hoping to fit the 8's throttle body to the fd's intake in order to save myself a cable hassle.
Also,i plan to keep the electric power steering, abs ,cluster and ac and get them working via can emulators (already tested and working).
My main concern is ecu and tuning....
What ecu to go for and who is the go to tuner for this kind of setup?
Any previous experiences with tuners are much appreciated, also any ecu advice would be great.
Much obliged as always

Re: FDR3
You absolute madman.... I love it
I think Josh @ Blackstar has done some REW swapped 8's? not sure who's done the tuning side for them like, but might be worth a message to give options or see who's done the tuning on them

Re: FDR3
George at Easytuning is a good friend and he has tuned a lot of cars for me.
Unfortunately his ZEUS ecu does not work for an S2 and i am not aware of a plug and play one.
If one comes on the market unless it is a well known brand it will take time for tuners to get used to it and i dont want to spend +£15k to be a lab rat.
The plan is to get an aftermarket ecu to run the fd motor which will be compatible with a fly by wire thrrottle and base the tune via MAP and wideband lambda.
To be honest i already nearly have the custom harness sorted for the car, just need to know which ecu i should use and who is ready to tune such a frankenstein.
As a last resort i can "import" a tuner.
I am aware of PG but for some reason my ears want to see another option.

there's nothing wrong with haltech, its just not so common here.

Re: FDR3
If you are keen on Haltech, I would have a word with Tom at Advocult. They hosted 7s day this year for FDOC. I know they've been doing a Rew swapped 8, and are a Haltech dealer.
