Project NOS

Post by Mr RXX » Thu Nov 01, 2018 6:56 am

Following the power on a budget, I have purchased a NOS kit.

This is going to be very much a long term project with before and after dyno readings :thumright:

Anybody up for helping/ advising on the project would be great

Cheers all

I'd be very interested to see what the end result of this is.

I shall also prepare many Fast and Furious related memes. I shall start with this one:

What kit have you bought? To really benefit from it etc you want a decent progresses controller.

If you really want proper control over it all, without going crazy into detail, your want the Nitrous Outlet "Pro Max" controller.

See link.-

Not Sure how to add images but it is a kit imported from the USA,

The same as the one here : https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/ ... /overview/

Also I've read something quite alarming on the 1st page of the instruction manual:
"Never permit OIL to come in to contact.. OILs and NOS may produce a highly flameable condition..."

It is a wet system and I am running premix :(

I was thinking of maxing out at a 150 shot, depending on the state of the af ratios, engine health etc.

A 150 shot into an engine that may only have 150bhp to start with...? I think that's pretty ambitious.

I looked into NOS some time ago and the consensus seemed to be a max shot of 50-65 on a Renesis engine.

We'll see what the engine can handle. The plan was to start at a 50 shot, dyno it and check the engine stats and see if it can handle more of a shot.

The absolute max I would got to would be a 150 but that is a long way away, I would need a lot of supporting mods.

We will see how she stacks up

After a phone call to my insurance company and recent loss of my job, I have postponed the project until the summer.

Will update if things change.
