RIP T200CAD Built Not Bought....

Post by exiled--viking »

RIP T200CAD It all started in 2007 the Car took me out of some Bad places that I was dealing with at the time the Project helped me with this recovery many nights and early mornings when I could not sleep spent in the garage working on Her she won 40 trophies and the last show I entered the car in was Holland in 2015 which was when she got the best accolade after that I took her to the odd show but did little mileage in the car she was took to lemans 3 times and down to Italy twice trips to Germany on regular stint but in the later years the car was just left in the garage one year I think she only did 250 miles and I just lost interest in the project I was about to Brake the car up but Chris took it on which for him has I think not been the easiest thing to do the car was a show car Never for the Track ...... RIP T200CAD now have a another little project MX05CAD thank's to T200CAD it gave me some skills In modding now honed a little the 5 is a little more refined and Used as A True Daily Runner ....

A few Pic”s in no particular Order the Blue car two Orange strip’s started it all ………..with over 280 mods done some a few times over I had a lot of fun …… spent a ton of cash and had a good time took the car over 170 + mph on the way to Amsterdam the engine gave out on my drive way when I got her back to the UK that was engine 4 of six builds ….

I'd just like to say that the time, effort, and love put into this did not, and has not, gone to waste. It may not be back soon, and it may not be quite as recognisable when it returns, but it's not going to the scrappie or anything (quite the opposite!)

There's plenty more miles and smiles left in her yet.

Tony did a fantastic job with the car and I have great memories from Mallory in it with Chris. It will never be forgotten it will always live on.

Personally I would rather see it go this way. It's parts will live on in other cars and they will no doubt always be a talking point. Knowing Chris as little as I do I'm sure every part has/will be going on to a new future.

If it had been like so many others sold on and eventually left to rot it would have been very sad indeed.

The silver lining is we now get to see Tony and Chris building other cars up. I'm excited to see Tony's new beast and what Chris has planned for his new car port.

As someone who never saw the car in the metal, and has only seen pictures and read what people have said about it, I can still clearly tell that this was a unique and high quality show car, and it really looked fantastic.

It's a shame that's I never got to see the car as it was, but I'm glad someone saw something special enough in the car to put the time and effort into making an RX-8, a car which in my eyes is deeply unappreciated in the UK, into something really unique and special, and really stuck it out for the long haul.

I'm glad bits of it are being used to make other Rexes even better, and that the shell will live on to continue to bring people joy. :thumleft:

The hinges will live on in LC05VRY. One of many cars that will benefit from the efforts of both Tony and Chris.

Thanks chaps!

So glad I managed to get a passenger seat in the car with Chris at the AGM. Was an awesome experience to say the least! Wish I'd seen the car in its show days. But alas! I'll take seeing it and being driven around three Sisters as enough. :p
