two major jobs done this past week....

one, a heater installed so i can stop freezing to death!

fuel tank bracket made and hung so i can fill it with red diesel..
Image

here i have added a one way valve and a filter, throwing the crappy filter supplied away as i couldn't get all the air out of it... for some reason without the one way valve it wont prime, it just keeps running back into the tank when the pump stops. this has prevented that.
Image

all the pipework run (need to clip the fuel line back, will do that later).

second job, theres a stump, and i keep hitting it with the rear of the lorry whilst turning it around.

on a side note, a reciprocating metal blade goes through a windscreen like butter.... as long as you dont want to cut anything else with it after.. :)

So does a metal-cutting disc on an angle grinder, with the same caveat.

it was interesting to look inside the sills. the front and rear of the sills are totally rotten both sides, the inner sill is rotten for its entire length. the outer sill has been patched for a good chunk of its length, so something to be wary of for cars that have had sill repairs, repairing the outer adds no strength at all if the actual load bearing member which is the inner sill is left to keep rotting...

the frame rails above the fuel tank and above the exhaust where also rotten and nearly holed, the only structural strength in the area at all was the roof. i cut the roof off and the floor started to fold in front of the rear wheels!

I mean there’s breaking a car and there’s BREAKING a car, definitely the latter in your case.

I've got an old commercial oil-fired boiler that I need out of the way.

Problem is that the utility room has been built in front and there isn't room to get it through and I doubt the floor would take the weight, just over a ton.

It's going to take a lot more effort to cut up that the 8s shell.

Interesting that it has previous owners “0” in the description.

oh yes.

its one owner from new, so before cornwall fire and rescue it has had 0 previous owners. :D

full service history and it drives alright, everything works, the best engine, and i can live without alloys and leather :D

just needs a door and a front bumper, and a bit of panel work.

not as much as you'd think, the damage to the side is not as bad as it looks and it is otherwise absolutely spotless. its never had an advisory on its mots and only failed once on tyres.

its low milage and an easy fix, so i'm ecstatic :D

laguna didn't go in todays auction as i decided i needed to keep it around for a few days, as soon as the astra has a mot ill get rid.

aye, they do that to entice bidders :D

having said that, a honda crv (09) went for 2.2k which is about its guide price, and about 2k less than i sold a identical crv for 6 months ago. if id had the cash id have bought that one, driven it straight to the dealer, and sold it to them (which is what i did with my parents crv when they needed some quick cash!)
