Trying to solve this power loss issue between 4.5k and 6.5k, thought staggered wheels might be cause - nope, changed to standard intake - nope. Now to dig deeper and try to see why :(

Well, removed exhaust, propshaft and that big beam (forgotten the name dean said #-o ) and dropped fuel tank to check everything and why there was a leak, all supervised by dean of course

From the pic, the pump is the culprit that has been leaking and when dean inspected it wasn't fully down. This has now been fitted properly and tonight we have the task of checking the pipes and filling tank up to see if any leaks then refitting everything [-o<

Update.
Fuel pump not seated correctly was my fuel leak! Thanks mazda [-X but pressure tested, clips replaced with jubilee clips, and tank filled to the brim, drove it for an hour and not a leak in sight! 1 job ticked off - only another 5 million to go #-o
Special thanks to dean for being a legend :)

Hi Dave,

Do you have any problems with the fascia kit you fitted? I have read bad reports on the Metra kit and yours is the only alternative I have heard of. I would be grateful for any feedback you can provide!

Absolutely none whatsoever, blowers all work like standard form and arent turning 1 million times like the metra kit. Highly recommend it :D

Kanatechs own website lists the shortcomings of this product, including
● This model is compatible with the Factory DVD car navigation system but the TV function is disabled. (TV function on the aftermarket car navigation system should operate.) Some functions such as the car navigation system operation sounds may be disabled.
● The clock and audio information in the information-center-display become disabled.
● Switching of the air conditioning control button becomes slow and soundless.
● When turning on the ignition, the information-center-display or the LED indicator on the heater control unit may flicker or be delayed.
● Automatic sound Level Control (ALC) becomes disabled.
● Dimming functions for the information-center-display or the heater control unit (LED) display that works when either head lights or parking lights are on are disabled.
● The heater control unit and the hazard lamp switch illuminate whenever ACC is on.
https://kanatechs.com/products/tbxe/t003.html

Which is pretty much the same as the later Metra version

Hi
I don’t know if you have tried this but my car had a flat spot between 4500 and 5500 rpm but would rev out no problem I tried all the usual suspects vac leaks ect.i finally tracked it down to the fuel pump regulator,I changed it and the car is back to normal.

Could even be a blocked fuel pump filter restricting the flow?
I’ve seen some with massive amounts of gunge in them from a relatively low mileage.

The injectors aren't bulletproof and can have issues.

What's becoming more common is corrosion on the electrical connections as the loom goes onto the injectors.
