Weeeeeelllllllll you can't keep a good guy down, so here I am, back again. No major updates as of right now, but I do have a few things in the pipeline.

First is that I've got some CF skinning clobber, so going to have a stab at carbon-fibreing some stuff. It'll end badly, big old mess I'm sure, but it'll be fun.

Picked up these beauties this evening :-D

18" Mazda 3 MPS alloys. Don't quite fit over my brakes, but means I have some R3 look track wheels.

One is buckled so need to get that sorted, but should be fine :thumleft:

They don't look too bad tbh.

The offset isn't great, needs some spacers, but certainly doesn't look out of place.

They'll make a good set of track wheels 😃

Will spacers get them over the front brakes?

Yep.

They are a shallower offset than standard RX8 wheels, so I need spacers to bring them out a bit

Is that just your mahoosive brakes Dan, or do you think they'd have the same problem with standard calipers?

Nah, they'd fit standard calipers I reckon. Obviously not tried it, but the stock calipers are actually quite narrow.

Happy for someone to do a test fit up at Cadwell Park :thumleft:

Hey guys,

Want to give something back to the OC for being so supportive of my YouTube shenanigans, as such I'll make sure things are previewed here before they are previewed elsewhere ;)

If you haven't already seen it - which I think a lot of you who are interested have - then please check out the full re-cap of Frank as he stands right now here:

The next modification on the list when the new steering wheel arrives is to fit my NC MX5 airbag. It's VERY similar to the stock R3 airbag, but rather than a brushed silver surround it is fully gloss black - check it out here - R3 on the left NC MX5 on the right. Note that only some of the NCs came with the black surround... Weirdly.

To each their own Ian 👍

It is indeed past its best, but no worries as it'll be retrimmed shortly.

The airbag is from an NC MX5, but I believe the gloss black trim was only from the limited editions? Can't verify that though!

Having wing-thoughts...

What are people's preferences between the R-magic spoiler or the Mazdaspeed rear wing?

Ignore the wheels as they are not to my taste at all, but...

Ooft that is quite a nice wing indeed. The Mazdaspeed is also nice.. Going to be a tough one. I kind of want a Mazdaspeed wing for the sake of owning a Mazdaspeed wing.
