If you want looks then either wing will do, and I wouldn't bother about mounting points much with the speeds you'll get up to. If you want performance then don't bother unless you fit a balancing splitter, perhaps with winglets/canards, on the front.
You wouldn't believe this, but I had to order another one as a day after fitting it I was driving on the motorway and it flew up and hit the windscreen and cracked in several places... not repairable either :( My own fault as I didn't tighten up the bolts on the bonnet catch properly, was leaving them finger tight when test fitting and forgot to give them the full tighten.

I'd love a proper front splitter but it would have to be below my current front Amemiya one and I think it would be too low to get over bumps, etc.

I went for the APR GTC-200 in the end. It looks good enough and I don't have to faff around with drilling new mounting holes and getting the old ones covered and sprayed over.

Both should be with me by the end of the month so i'll get both fitted and get a photo up :thumright:

Sounds like something that would happen to me!

I like the JDM flavor youve got going on.

Picture of the Carbon bonnet.

Just waiting for the big wing to come and complete the look!

What are peoples' opinions on the bonnet? Leave it Carbon or get it painted white to match the rest of the car?

going against the grain here but for me it would look better in white.i think with the splitter being black aswell as the fins around the fogs and also the grille youve just enough there for a nice contrast

Aside from the strength and weight saving of carbon fibre (arguable when you have an alum` bonnet) but I thought part of the attraction was having the weave of the carbon fibre visible to show it is actually carbon fibre a shame to paint it and nothing wrong with the contrast of black and white looks stunning as is - might invest in one myself.

You're about the 5th person to ask me about it haha. The one currently fitted is the broken one. It's not too bad on top just a few crack marks but when you lift it up there is a massive split.
Once my replacement one comes at the end of the month I'll fit that and post some photos up of the actual damage so you'll get an idea of how bad it is.
A few people are interested so hopefully this will give a good indication of if its worth it.

Completely agree! I get that the point of a carbon fibre bonnet is mostly the carbon fibre look with the weave etc, but personally I've never been a fan of having non colour matching bonnets/boots on, well, pretty much any car :P Does look very JDM though, each to their own!

I'm going to leave it for now and see how it looks as an overall package paired with the APR GTC-200 wing on it once its mounted (which should hopefully turn up soon!) My brother is pretty handy with Photoshop so he can do me a mock-up so I can see what it looks like :)

New front tyres arrived today. I was very happy with the current P Zeros I have all round so went with the same make but the uprated P Zero Corsas. These are the Direzionales for the front. The rears will be coming next month and are the Asimmetrico 2. If you google 'P Zero Corsa system' you'll see how they work. Fronts have an A rating for wet grip so will be good for the occasional track day whatever the weather. Size is the current 245/35/R19 93Y XL. Here is a picture:
image.jpeg
Note that these have now been superseded by the P Zero Trofeo which come fitted as standard to the McLaren 675LT, totally unnecessary for me as not only are they £255 per tyre (!) but they are more of a track day tyre and won't be good if it rains...
