'http' or 'https' it doesn't matter, as long as you just copy the link in the main address bar of the browser, the forum does the rest. :thumleft:

Now lets see what that attachment does.. :D

Spent yesterday visiting Ben at Rotary Revs having my airbag light problem sorted and a service. It was good to see Ben again and his new place, it had been three years since my rebuild and it's a long way from Anglesey.
I also got the chance to detail Bens Vantage, my first Aston Martin. An absolutely stunning car that deserved some decent protection.
Started off with a clean and full claybar then compound to sort out some scratches and swirl marks and finishing off with Polish Angel cosmic 9H glass coat.
The results:

Can't beat the the shine you get with the cosmic 9H and with two years protection and scratch resistance too, it's a no brainer.

Pretty sure it was an FC soft top, but spent most of my time looking at the Vantage.
Got a short trip in it when I went with Ben to pick it up from his house, but it was long enough to turn me green with envy.

I couldn't help wondering - have you got access to a pencil hardness test kit? because it sounded wrong when you described the mazda paint as 2B hardness. I've been working in automotive coatings for a long time now and 2B is a bit rubbish even for a monocoat paint. Since 2k clears have been popular for some years and a lot of manufacturers going for ceramic clears, it seems even more ridiculous. I'd like to see the 9H test proven!

Only just seen this and there is a test. I used an Elcometer 501 Pencil Hardness Tester which is supposed to give accurate results. It holds the pencil at 45 degrees and exerts a standard pressure. I found that I could mark the Mazda paint with a 2B but it would polish out with little effort by hand. HB and 2H easily marked the paint and required 2 passes of a DA polisher to remove. I determined that the paint was 2B based on the fact that it did mark the paint, but was easily removed.
Unfortunately I had borrowed the kit and have not had an opportunity to test the 9H coating to see if it lives up to the claims. I will borrow th kit again to test the paint again.

Just stumbled across this thread and read back through all 22 pages. Fantastic work =D> I'm always amazed when you see subtle cars like this and think, that looks really nice but can't quite put your finger on why it looks so good! Reading back on the mod list I can see that's it's the accumulation of all the small things that add up to great effect. DRL's, original PZ wheels with lovely refurb and tinted rear lights are highlights for me :D

Thanks guys, I love the rear lights and they suit the car so well. Got a couple of ideas I'm working on for the next subtle mod. Hopefully they will work out ok.

I love spending time keeping the car looking good, it will be 10 years old this year and I can't bear the thought of it not looking as good as the day I bought it.
