Ok so next on the list is=
.getting my CF trunk sorted which I bought of Dragon performance cheaply but unfortunatly you get what you pay for and it was very poor actual fitment was ok but the cutout for the brake light was to big and also the brake light dosnt fit forward enough so im gonna have to do a litlle modding there also when the mould was done they didnt fill the badge holes in on the original boot so there is some large dimples in the CF resin also when all the issues are sorted I need to get it re=laquered in matte so it matchs the hood.
.Completing my mazda Maniac custom calibration currently im at stage 2 with the 1st custom calibration uploaded just need to do the logging then send it to Jeff for more tweeks but so far ive noticed a bit more poke.
.Car PC needs to be finished I have the PC and monitor along with an OEM motorised hood but im having a few issues with the PC and constant crashing.
.Hopefully by the end of summer I will have replaced my radiator coolant pipes and water pump with a Koyo rad samco hoses (red) and an uprated Mazmart water pump.
.Im also seriously considering some form of a respray cos the paint work isnt what it used to be with lots of scratchs and dulled paint which machine polishing cant recover.

So thats it for now if I think or do anything else I will post it but I think I have plenty to be getting on with.

Some new rims for a bit of track fun they need a refurb maybe gloss black or matte but I need to start saving for some rubber first.

Rims look as if they should look nice although it's hard to see how they'll look without any rubber on them plus every time you park you you'll have to try and park so you can show off the brembos full :P .

Lol yeah did think they had the perfect curvature for the Brem,s il have to get out and jack the car each time and rotate the wheels,
I agree its hard to tell at the moment but I definitely think they need to be black silver just looks cheap on after market rims i was gonna have ago at doing them myself but I dont think il bother.

Loving the wheels.
Personally I wouldn't change the colour, they offset the black really well.

I love that bonnet but just wish they would make it in something other than carbon fibre as I would likely spray it nordic green to match the car... :(

FRP bonnets tend to be just as dear as CF for some reason but you can spray CF.

You can get that bonnet in FRP but once you have worked out the shipping and import taxes its near on a grand. Plus you have to take into account that it will need altering to fit 100%, so extra funds needed.

Well its been a while as ive been a little busy but I got my 8 back from -------- Tuesday fresh from a rebuild and port she is a bit lumpy but im hoping thats just the engine needing running in cant wait to give it a bit of welly but need to cover a 1000miles first all in all -------- did a ? job they had it alot longer then stated (6 weeks to there 2 maybe 3 they stated ) few annoyances one of my alloys has been curbed quite badly (didnt notice till I was home) and it seems they may have lost my battery cover but I asked them to look so il give them the benifit for now but I need that cover as the batt is right under a bonnet vent.
I should note that some will remember I was doing a custom calibration from Mazda maniac well that has gone out the window 1 cos id have to start fresh with my logs as its a different engine and I dont have anytime left to cover the 6-7 logs needed and 2 and more importantly it voids -------- warranty which is ashame .

Well the sun has finally started to shine well a bit anyway so I thought it was time to pull my finger out and get some stuff done on the car so here it is the first part of my Pre-Japfest mods was gonna do it all in one hit but ive been taking lots of pics of each job so will be posting as I go so heres part one.

Ok so I thought its time for a bit of engine bay tarting and as I have an AEM fitted this leaves the alternator exposed so I bought a spare and set about making it a bit more visually appealing.
Image
Stripped the sucker down
Image
Got some spray I used halfords high temp paint as a primer as hammerite doesnt bond to ally but I used red hammerite as the main coat due to the halfords stuff being matte and almost orange in colour I also gave the windings a quick coat with black hammerite.
Image

Image
Image
Image
All assembled turned out not to bad but id suggest to anyone else get it powdercoated as spray chips really easily.
Image
Image
Image
And a shot with my super now pully fitted the purple doesnt really go but cant have it all I guess.
Image

Time to install

AEM and batt removed.
Image
Image
All bits fitted
Image
Image
Did a full Ecu reset and I was away didnt feal any more power but she definitely revved up alot easier but I wasnt going for power gains so im not bothered.

Part 2 install Samco hoses , Re-medy water pump , Re-medy thermostat and painted throtle body.

Heres a pic of the painted throttle body I used the same method for painting this as the alternator I also replaced the hose going to it although I may replace that if I can get a proper formed one but this wasnt in the samco kit also spot my oil cat lots of gunk bloody moisture  .
Image
Got the thermostat out bit of a bitch but managed it see here the OEM one on the left and the Re-medy one on the right slightly different in size .
Image
Old pump stripped out really easy makes a change.
Image
Here is the 2 side by side oem left Re-medy right see the difference in the impeller.
Image
Stripped the old hoses out what a bitch that was the rubber seemed tu fuse to the metal but got there then it was install time had no problems with size other then one hose.
Image
This is the hose with the issue it was to short and pointed the wrong way but I had pre-empted it and bought a 90 degree elbow from viper performance which was identical in coulour size and probably slightly better on quality shame they dont do a full kit anyway I trimmed the 90 down and cut a bit of the samco hose then used a metal joiner and some clips and hey presto a perfect fit.
Image

Well thats it so far but the weekend is still yound and there are a ton of other projects to do in the engine bay and else where so watch out for stage 2.

Loving your thread. Your Rex is looking very fine.

Simple question for you. Where did you get your "headlight brows" from?

Keep up the good work.

The brow are from japan parts and there Burnout type 2 they where stupidly expensive and I cant believe I bought them but prefere them to the Kei office replicas and Fiberglass looks so much better then the vinyl versions.

It took one mullerd alternator to figure it out but its actually no to hard but it requires a little bravery as its all pressed together o will say at no point should a hammer be used as that's what mullered attempt number 1 I was lucky we have a hydrolic press at work
