after doing the final finish on the paint for the Astra (see disastra thread) I got on with one or two other things..

first...

people see my stuff out there and seem to think its ok to add more rubbish...... this should make them think twice.

my Makita battery grinder got really hot suddenly and lost power.

Image

it seems a loose connection at the brush holder was to blame and it went all melty.

the reason I love Makita so much is they are really decent on parts prices... the following are all genuine parts.
Image

all sorted and working fine.

I find parts prices crazy.

They're either that end of the scale, like with our mower, or £700 for a door speaker

ive got a contact here
https://www.etbtyres.co.uk/

who sells me tyres at cost, so I've been using him a lot recently. (set of rainsports for £80+vat each) not massive discounts on internet prices, but much more convenient..

i want a set of maxsport rb5's in full soft,(and another set in full hard for trackdays, but not yet at £400 a set) so i sent him a message...

no can do. only deamontweeks are allowed to sell them.... grrr.

Stop making things look pretty while I continue to be lazy and inept! My wheels glare at me every time I step outside and need doing. Grumble, grumble.

Don’t worry John the wheels on my 8 also look crappy as do the wheels with the winters on. My 595s however reside on pristine refurbed wheels and neither have been on the car yet!

i am rather fatigued this afternoon!

been clearing reeds from the bottom paddock so the horses have more grass. its hard work, a very long job and this is year 2 of this job..

did the bit on the right where its short a couple of weeks ago.
Image

2 hours in and i need a break!
Image
Image

and thats one field done, just all the old reeds to rake up...
Image
Image

Image
Image
Image
Image

just one last field to do and then all the fence lines.... then the whole lot to do again once the first growth has come through (which they wont eat, but the second growth they will)
Image

this old quad doesnt half make it easier...

I was using a scythe to cut reeds, the day before my heart attack.

I thought that the pain in my arm and the crushing sensation across my chest were just the result of the "exercise", until the ambulance crew arrived
