I ended up getting some draft seal strips from screw fix which will do the job.

Made good progress tonight and then got rained off :finger:

ECU box is now mounted. I've trimmed down the battery box and it JUST fits.
Started to apply the tape to the radiator and that's when the heavens opened.

Tighter than a nun's c u next tuesday.
No idea how I'm going to get that acordian pipe on. Need to shave a bit off the VFAD mouth, it clashes with the bumper. Should have it back on 4 wheels tomorrow evening.
Expansion bottle is mounted.

Mx5 fuse box is going to be fun transferring all the bits over.
You can do it!

Although I see some swearing when you try and get the accordian pipe on.
You weren't wrong. [edited] me that was hard. Ended up having to remove all of the upper inlet manifold bolts apart from one, move the inlet back. Bolt up the throttle body and then push it into the acordian pipe.
Engine bay all back together now :)
Tomorrow's job is to finish off the front bumper

I wonder if you could have taken a couple of creases out of that accordion pipe, with a sharp knife, and super-glued it back together, leaving it able to still wriggle.

The airbox is fixed to the front crash structure but the intake manifold needs to move with the engine on its mounts....

I appreciate that, I've been looking for an aftermarket intake boot, but they're either mega money, or come part of a kit

Didn't manage to go for a test drive tonight as I got drunk and had a zoom quiz with car mates.
For peace of mind I plugged in the obd reader and scanned for any codes with forscan and conducted a few tests. Everything checks out OK, so happier about the test drive tomorrow

I got my used one from bigpete. Was a bargain at £20 for the air box, tray and accordion pipe. He had a few of them.

Engine bay looks excellent BTW :thumleft:

Drives well. It's quieter.
Only problem is the PAS isn't kicking in. Fault code present

Did you work the ps lock-to-lock a couple of times before driving off?

It needs this to perform the self-test after reconnecting the battery.

If it's not that then it's back to basics, as you've had so much apart.

Pretty sure it's the earth lead connector, the white one nearish to the battery. When connected it was reading high resistance on an ohm test. Took the plug apart and cleaned it and the resistance dropped to zero :) yet to drive it to

The power delivery has definitely changed,
It's quieter.
But bloody hell does it heat up when stood idling.
