I'm already drooling and there's not even any garage equipment installed yet. Amazing work, and I'm dead jealous. Have been trying with a couple of friends to find a rental space for car work locally and it's just impossible, but your efforts encourage me to keep going!

Im itching to go buy all the tools etc! No one likes automotive workshops, took a long time to find some where that would agree my pre planned use for one.

We have a seven year old too, hence the little pink scooter you see in the back ground of the odd picture. She loves doing laps around the unit on it, worth the money just watching her do that.

You may of noticed the huge stack of plasterboards in one of the last pictures, well the time had finally come to finish off the huge mezzer wall. Also finally managed to rent a genie lift at last.

Doing this alone wasn't easy, specially considering I got to lift the huge sheets up onto the lift alone, raise it, fit into place and screw to the studwork without dropping it or falling off the tower myself.

I had to get creative with what I have, see the clamped ply wood sheet on base and stud length clamped too.

As seen, worked a treat, but took some determination.

Huge satisfaction on completing this, made such a difference and bounces the light around the building more now. Following on, started fitting the sign boards around the frames I built too.

Following the hype from the above, it was time to add some colour! (If you can call it that.)

Taped all the joins and away I went.

Although the grey didn't appear to make much of a different on the boards, it come out a slight different shade on the blocks oddly enough, looks pretty good, happy with that. The black on the other hand, god dam it looks good.

Anyhow, I did everything you see here by hand with a roller, SHOOT ME NOW....

Unless needed, I keep it shut off due to de-cat. Will be at some point fitting a sport cat. But dam, there is some sounds bouncing around when I drove it in.

I do have a set of four wheel skates, only really need the two on the rear to move it around out my way. The other two are just to confuse people who think my unit is out of use and park out the front over night only to come back following day to wonder how their car is now outside some one elses unit.

Some more plastering done for the wee office followed by base coat paint then main layers. I decided to keep this plain and simple as I really like the bare look of the doors. Popped the lights and sockets back in and ready to sort the floor, skirting and door frames.

Vinyl down, door frames on, skirting pinned, throw couple of seats in add a desk and we’re done.

Ka BOOM!

It’s getting there isn’t it. If it looks like I’ve speeded along with progress?, dont be fooled. Everything I’ve been posting is a back log and I did months ago.

BUT, things are getting done again and the place looks a lot different now to what’s being shown so far.

There is a big order of equipment currently going through. The main one is my first lift, which is proving to be a pain in the butt! BendPak needs to pull their finger out as sema over for this year.

I will actually be posting an official club open day event once I’m happy with the place and members can come down and use all my equipment etc for free. Most likely be held on a Sunday with plenty of notice.

The time had come to smarten up the outside of my units.

No real detail before pictures, but jet was the brickwork and it kinda paint stripped the wood work to, whoops.

Anyway, with the help from “Dan the rx8 man”, sanded the roller shutter beams and painted black, while I popped out the windows and blacked those out.

Following on, removed weeds up the side of the brick work, dummy camera, old alarm boxes and crappy broken lights and fresh paint on the doors, door frames and window frames.

Following on, loads of security updates. Various upgrades, won’t be listing any detail obviously apart from the main obvious of the bling bling black door and window shutters.

Have you seen the series 'Garage Rehab'
Richard Rawlings of gas monkey fame 'loans' money to failing garages to revamp

Some good ideas for layouts etc if you are planning anything car workshop related....
Hey, sure have. Ends up being more about the drama then anything else as the shows progressed. Still, watched them all anyway as it’s still of interest.

Spent some hours giving the crappy roller doors a good clean followed by a repaint.

Look nowhere near as crap now, even tho all dented etc. But still, a lot better than spending 20-25k for replacements, ouch!

They are still wet in the pics, but your see in the next ones they dry out to a light shade. More to come with these later on.

Following on, the time had come to finally start painting over that nasty magnolia section!

It’s been a pet hate area for so long!!!

I actually used the spray gun at last too! The walls was so bad with screw plug holes, crappy repairs and so on, the only way was with the spray gun anyway.

This job was pretty fun and very fast. I’m rather happy with the out come as it filled all the crappy areas etc. Apart from the hours of cleaning and wiping down prior to paint.

Now even tho the walls are so bad, it’s hard to really notice and looks pretty blended/even all over.
