The biggest challenge with floor grinding tends to be when you're changing the internal layout, removing walls etc, and the original floors have been laid/screeded within the rooms.

This can result in significant differences between the floor levels, both the average heights and if someone hasn't taken much care and some of the original floors are raised slightly round the edges.

I got involved with a project to redesign the layout of the engine test cells at Ford Dunton, where they spent 3 days trying to grind all the various areas down to the same level, and finally gave up and laid a high-density composite floor across the whole lot @ £28k+

Re: The Ultimate Man Cave (Warehouse) *Picture Heavy!*

Post by Goobie » Tue Nov 05, 2019 3:04 pm

Well here we are 6 months on since my last update, here's why and what has happen.

This is way off topic but as to why.

My pregnant at the time lady develop an abnormal lump in her breast back in February to which the Doctor put down being due to pregnant, this lump continued to enlarge.

We went back and saw the top so call breast cancer specialist for the south east, got told the same thing. Weeks go by, it gets bigger, see the same specialist again, get told the same thing, demanded test scans and got told we are wasting his time and he refused.

Some time later we finally get one. Results come back and the Doctor rudely tells us he was right and how he is the top guy in his field and we are wasting his time. Time goes on, the lump has continued to grow, he refuses to deal with us, we seek another doctor who then books us for the same test etc and we wait to find out.

By this point the lump is so big you can clearly see when fully clothed. The results come back and we are delivered the devastating news that there is three beast cancer lumps in her beast and has now also spread up around the arm pit to as this had been left to grow for so long.

Further more, we was then told that looking at the file report back in February test that is was clear result showing small cancer lump the size of a marble, which had now grown to a size of a plum.

The Doctors words him self was, "I will try to save your life" and we had no choice but within the space of 48 hours go into hospital to have our baby induced two months early to then two day after given birth start the most aggressive chemotherapy treatment in hope to shrink the now three cancer lumps.

After months of treatment, she has responded well and the lumps has shrunk to the point they was able to operate, but now had to remove the whole of her breast.

We are told should this of been picked up as seen in test result back in feb, then they could of done a small operation without the need of risking our baby being induced and wouldn't of need the harsh treatment or breast removal either.

This above is the bare bones of what happen, luckily we wasn't prepare to just accept being told its nothing to worry or we wouldn't have her with us today and our children would be mother-less.

The so call specialist Doctor is now suspended till further notice via NHS and court action is taking place, so the above is all I can legally say in short.

We had tiny boy who is now a good few months old and doing really well despite the drama which in turn has helped distract us getting through the bad days.

I understand members may feel to show support etc, so as silly as it sounds to keep this thread on topic and related a simple thank you thumbs up for this post is more than enough to show your support acknowledgement etc.

There is a bucket load of warehouse updates to post up that never made it here, so now with my membership renew etc expect to see some good transformation pictures.

Thanks, G.

This puts our minor woes into perspective.

So glad the baby is doing well, and mother too now, hopefully.

Can't think of anything we can do to help but don't be afraid to ask...

Thank you everyone for the show of support via pm, posts and thanking post.

Honestly, this forum is and has such a good members community.

Always see so many members willing to go out of their way even for non members and offer to view possible purchase etc etc.

Thank you again.

Now, time for what I'm most likely known for, photo spamming!

Now there was no way I could go with the classic white gloss work!

Looks a bit random at first, but its spot on as I work my way round.

Well got to be said, all that recycled wood etc, its turned out rather well and to the point of unrecognisable.

Rather happy with the out come and by far from a boring place to be during work related activity's.

Crazy isn't it, knock down everything and build back up from scratch. I had no idea it would turn out how it has, looking back over the pages on here really does give me some thing to be proud of.

The gloss black really does make the place. I did question my choice at first, but as I worked my way round it all started to tie together. The doors with the chrome fixtures makes it really pop!

There's more to come for office sections as you can see in one picture, office furniture has started to appear.

The double unit is/going to be split into three sections so to speak. This above is pretty much a remote office, then the other half upstairs is kinda a huge stock room. Both unretaliated, then the main ground floor which has its own reception room, phone line and stock room is or shall I say will be a professional work shop for cars and bikes.

The time had come to finally do something about the only three old lights that worked in the building.

For now I order eight six foot long battens to see how they perform. These are Deltech LED 6000k.

After deciding best position for each light, I then needed to run all new wiring around the roof for power and a switch point.

Rather impressed with these, for such a slim light batten I wasn't expecting much after opening the boxes on delivery as they are very thin and light weight.

Lights aren't really something you can picture, but they are bright, REALLY BRIGHT! One picture below gives you an idea of old vs new LED.

I will be ordering more to go under the mezzer section.

Fitting these from scratch, ie wring etc took some hours, but the end result far outweighs the couple of near death experience.
