A staggering amount of timber cutting there. Very impressive
Haha, could say i’ve way over engineered this. But I got so much wood in my stock pile, why not. Now for the other room section I know how to go about it quicker. Used some hardcore size timber for the bottom area as pretty much used up all the long skinny ones, so wanna save all the short and off cuts for other odd area parts.

Haha, nope. I like to do thing myself as becoming very apparent from this.

I want todo some crazy build with my R3 as I have a tidy budget. But whoever I speak to rather me give them my car for them to build and take the credit for it while I pay a huge bill for them to show off their work with my money, but that’s not for this thread.

Without all the technical crap and detailing why. My combined units have to have two toilets and basic kitchen set up. As I’ve built a remote office and already half knocked out the two toilets and simple kitchen section on ground floor to be replaced with one small one, I needed to add in another upstairs. I’m also adding in a separate power feed and phone etc. As I have the space, I’ve marked out built a cupboard to house a fuse box / meter and toilet wash room! The other side will have a simple kitchen section thrown it, nowt fancy.

Ps, Even whipped up the door frames.

Na do it yourself then you can either smile or cry without any doubt its was you! I've just got a new compressor and air tools etc. as I think that's me being an enthusiast, which the car is crying out for. Hey keep going, but holly poop that's a works shop!!

Getting close to boarding up the walls for plastering, so made a start with the wiring for power sockets, second phone line for an office from office ex number, lights and for what will be a kinda like command centre, aka multiple screens in the remote office section one of which Il be able to spy on staff from miles away, basically I'll be able to be in two places at once.

Getting close to boarding up the walls
With 80 sheets sitting around I was itching to get some up. Having never touch a plaster board before, I decided il start with the big simple flat wall as a practise run.

This won’t actually be staying up, as will be building sections off of the wall like the other side later on.

Looks like some sort of art galley wall waiting for paintings.

Anyway, wasn’t to hard single handed. Sheets are 22kg each in weight.

Now to get on with chopping up sheets to size to slot in the bottom.

I did it this way round to get some practise in cutting and fitting into fixed holes rather than easy just slotting on top then slicing via the edge way, which if I wasn’t doing this to practise with and was to stay I would of fix them the other way round.

Thanks, had a look. I could do with the foot lifter tool.

The outside section going to be interesting one to fit. I bought my R3 down that night. It will no longer ever be left outside or see the rain again. Also will be joined by another two cars and bikes but that's not for this thread.

As seen in this pic, I chopped out window sections just before putting the test boards up.

One of my fav pictures, kinda marks a point where I felt I was starting to see my vision in reality.

More plaster board time...

I rented some rather wobbly panel lifter so I could get on with sticking the roof sheets up.

Had a little play with it first to throw a few sheets up on the outside wall.

Now onto some more never done it before stuff, THE CELLING...…..

That turned out really well, rather happy with that as was expecting it to be a nightmare first time round.

I only had the panel lifter for the night so I worked right through till the morning to get the solo office celling up too!

Again, this turn out really well too, thanks to this crappy panel lifter, I was able to bust this out single handed.

There would of been no way sticking huge flimsy 22kg sheets up as a first timer on my own without this wobbly tool.

I got a huge job satisfaction feeling etc from fitting these.

Standing back and looking at it, I now feel like I'm really progressing and the follow days of feeling like a zombie from all the late nights are starting to really paying off.

With the celling up and another door frame in, I could start with some of the walls and chopping holes out for the wiring hidden in the stud work.

Here’s where it started to get bit tricky, kinda like peicing a jig saw puzzle together this was.

Very happy with that as was not looking forward to it. Even fitted a window ledge too.

Did I miss the photos of the insulation going into that exterior wall or is the cladding insulated? If its not then you have a real danger of condensation on the inner surface which long terms will give you big issues.

Thanks, It is defiantly a journey. Zero, already inside an insulated building.

Il try explain the best I can, as I'm no builder etc. It is double skinned cladding, where I ripped out the old office I noticed two things, its a good six inch gap between the two with some sort of foam sandwiched between them. I know this as I pulled off the window trim by accident and had fit new one, when it was off I could see it and also along the sides where they had put screws in for battens to fix plaster boards to. go back over the pictures and you can make it out if you know what you're looking for.

Another point, I did consider it for a while, but after looking at the bigger picture, it was a call centre office section, I removed so much phone line, sockets, devider switch board boxes etc meaning alot of people at once in the area which will add huge condensation. Now add that to the fact what I knocked down was god knows how old and i didnt see or find any sign of mould etc anywhere. Also, no insulation anywhere apart from one door way section that looked recently add. Apart from that, expanding foam on the celling where it meet the cladding, can be see in pictures.

One last thing, If you look back over my pictures your see I've built the whole outer wall with a gap and its only around the window edge it filled in. So the edge of the flooring has gaps all along from the cladding and gap right along the back wall that can be seen from the side if looking from ground floor and in-fact it goes right around and over the top. Hard to explain or understand, sorry. I basically built this out internally away from the wall but sectioned in around the two windows of an insulated building. Air from the whole inside of the building is non pressured and can flow freely all around what I've built. Just to add, I also built it like this as everything has to be reversible, hence the wood etc.

Forgot to add, chopped out the holes for the light switch and plug sockets! Just need to chop the holes for the spot lights, fit trim around the cupboard area, then it’s go over all the joints and plaster!
