Right so as you may have seen from my other thread had a bit of a 'mare but front Tein street basis coilovers are now on (rears will be done when I get a chance)
IMG_20171009_112924.jpg
Will adjust them when I find my spanners, once they are all done it is having a full 4 wheel alignment. Nearly at 900 miles now so not far off a trip to rotary motion and then let the beeping commence :D

Also discovered a "feature" today that if you turn the rear heated screen on it makes the radio signal go terrible...

There's an RF filter box in the back to stop that interference.
Sounds like yours isn't working (they can die) so a call to BigPete might be in order.

My BMW does that. For me it's because the earth strap breaks between the screen and the main body. There's a total of 4 of them, and they're £20/ea

Finally ticked over 1000 miles today :D So off for a trip to rotary motion on thursday for oil change and hopefully sort the airbag light issue.

When it stops raining the rear coilovers will be fitted and they will all need adjusting as the front needs to go a bit lower so I assume the back will as well... then time for a 4 wheel alignment to make sure im not wrecking my tyres, which are awesome btw been really really wet last few days (even for Wales!) and the grip is still amazing had a nice blast home through the country lanes in the dark tonight!

Then once all that is sorted the decat and exhaust will be fitted as it is definitely too quiet then all I have to do is fit the RR coils and hopefully leave it alone for a while

I meant leaving it alone mechanically, driving wise it will get plenty of use ;)

The exhaust turned up today, i`m guessing I need a gasket for between the centre pipe and the backbox?

I really think it's worthwhile to get a new fitting kit from your local exhaust shop for the sake of a few notes. You will have trouble free fitting 8) . One of My spring bolts snapped when taking of the stock exhaust so it was great peace of mind putting on the new gaskets etc in that the job would be done perfectly by yourself :thumright:

I already bought a fitting kit with all the front gaskets for fitting the decat but at the time didn't have a catback, but got this for £100 so couldn't resist, so just need the back one.

Got the exhaust fitted the other day got distracted and started messing with the rear shocks as well but not changed them yet, couldnt fit the decat as my socket in the right size was too long to fit in the space to undo the front nuts also I had 10 minutes left until I was picking the kids up from school when I had to do up the catback-cat bolts and apparently didnt do it enough as after a few days it has started to blow and sounds louder than a jet  so will get the tools and sort that when I fit the cat

Drove 100+ miles today to rotary motion and back for my first oil change. Treated her to a £5 wash first
IMG_20171110_101015.jpg

Chris did some tests regarding the airbag light and it's definitely something in the bits in the rear passenger door where to seatbelt is rather than the seat (after unplugging etc) I couldn't leave it with them to have a look further as no way of getting home...

So will do my own investigations then take it back if I need to. Apparently the passenger seat was taken out when it was just a spare car in the workshop to put in the race car when Anthony Weeks was giving passenger rides at Forge event so possible it's just a dodgy connection somewhere as working fine before that.

All good then , that’s weird , I don’t recall seeing Anthony ‘s car in forge this year ? Maybe it was the year before . It won’t be the first time I been wrong mind ....

Not sure when think they had the car 2 years before I bought it. First job is check all the connectors behind the rear door card otherwise time to try a new seatbelt and hope it's not any wires before that causing the problem...

You wouldn't have a spare passenger seatbelt hanging around from one of your fleet would you Wayne?

Yes I would , your welcome to have it , sounds a bit ominous does that . If the seat is removed I can’t see that would affect how it would be loose connection elsewhere

Awesome, I'll see how it goes with checking the other stuff first.

Yeah that's what makes no sense, he hooked up the machine with and without the buckle/seat plugs in and those codes were there but went away when plugged in so not those connections.

Chris has said I can leave it there and they will swap some bits around to figure it out but just easier to try and sort myself than having to get home and back to pick it up from Chippenham if I can.

weird both links work the same for me.

Ive found the mounts for sale (well look the same type) just need to work out what size to get IIRC the thread were Pete did the CFD needs to be about 20cm up from the boot to be in decent enough airflow to work

Your wing is designed to be fairly close to the boot lid, so that it can take advantage of the different air flow at the centre and the sides. If you high mount it the air flow won't suit the variable wing shape, and you'll probably end up with loads of drag and no down force (maybe even rear lift!). I'd give it something like a 5 to 10cm gap to the boot lid and see how you go.
