Well done Malcolm. Even though it's early in the year, it's comforting to see the beginning of the list of venues and events that are supported by the RX8OC.
After the excellent success at Brooklands last year, it will be the first on my list. I must remember to get a photo of the 8 under the nose of the Concorde.
Although I'd paid for my ticket, an issue with the 8 the day before prevented me setting out the next morning to Castle Combe! So that is definitely on the list for this year.
After missing out on Go Japan last year as it clashed with the Brooklands meet, it will be good to return. As long as the pitch, like 2024, is not at the Back of Beyond!
To improve this years RX8 presence at Beaulieu, maybe we can join forces with RX8 Familia? As the cars and members that attend most RX8OC events is dwindling, is it not time to put all the "8s" in one basket?
The jury for me for me is still out regarding the Japfest at Silverstone! Long queues, no where to setup a gazebo, expensive hot food outlets. It always seems to be very windy at Silverstone. too!
Also to be included will be Yakushi at Whittlebury Park, it is small compared to Brands and Silverstone. There is no problem erecting the gazebo and the site is undulating, so you can see most of the cars at the event from wherever you stand.

Happy New Year to all fellow RX8 owners. Maybe we'll see some of you at organised meets in the East Anglia area?

Ref getting more rotaries to events, some on here will already be aware that a new Facebook group (Rotary Community UK) has been set up to promote events to the wider rotary car community. I, Eva and Jim Edmunds (who was the main Familia events guy) are admins on the group. The group has no direct affiliation to any particular club and several events have been listed on there, including Beaulieu. The aim is either for the stand at each event to be "Rotary Community" stand for all clubs (the Brooklands model), or for us to colocate our stand with the RC one.

Yes, I know about the RC. Jim messaged me at the birth and I was one of the first to make a post and acknowledge the group. Great idea, it can only strengthen all clubs involved.

The details about the Rotary Community Facebook Group was for the benefit of other readers of this topic who may not be aware of this recent development to bring rotary owners together at events.
