Link to code in first post :thumleft:

Post up in here if you have any problem. Brooklands put initial limit on ticket numbers and we may have reached the limit.

Will has been in contact with Brooklands to check and request an increase in our allocation.

I don't think it works that way. Brooklands allocated (I think) 20 places and were assigned as people had booked. Invites are out to several clubs, not just RX-8 OC and has been quite popular.

I'll PM you the code now. Let know if it works, or what error you get if it doesn't.

An week to go now, so I hope everyone is looking forward to this event :D

This from the Brooklands site:

All windscreen passes and further event details will be sent to you prior to the event date.

So I assume these will be emailed out very soon then.....

Don't forget your e-ticket - issued when you booked your place.

Here is an option for anyone who would like to join a convoy to get to Brooklands. Some of the Familia club owners will hopefully join us too.

Meet at Tesco Extra at Addlestone to depart PROMPTLY at 9.15am. It has a very large car park and should be empty as the store doesn't open until 10am. The store is just 6 minutes from Junction 11 of the M25.

There is a fuel station there too.

Note there is a closer Tesco Extra store we will pass on the way, but I'm expecting that to be the main one used by other cars going to this event, so might get busy, plus it's very close to Brooklands, so doesn't give much opportunity for a convoy - our journey is only 4 miles (~12 minutes) anyway .

Leaving at 9.15 means we should arrive at Brooklands about 9.30am, well before the public entry time of 10am. If you are delayed en-route and can't get to Tesco by 9.15am, then proceed staright to the venue. We will depart at 9.15am.

Hopefully we can keep together as a convoy as I'm expecting the roads will be quiet. Not many turns, most of which are left, with (I think) only one set of traffic lights on the route. Importantly, it's also a left turn into the venue.

If you want to meet up there for a 9.15am departure, please post up in here so I know who to expect. Thanks. :thumleft:

Thanks Casey, worth noting that there is a Shell garage about 500yds from the entrance to the museum. There are also avg speed cameras on the road approaching the museum so don’t enter too enthusiastically!

I also read on the website that there may be an opportunity for cars to try out the test hill. Not sure if they have communicated this to clubs, or whether they will just organise this on the day.

I think it's best I ask that attendees post up in here if;

1. They will meet at the RV point posted above, or
2. They will go directly to the venue.

IMPORTANT

Below is the pass you need to print out and place in your windscreen on arrival (they are not individually numbered, all the same).

I can bring some spare passes to the Tesco RV point if you let me know in advance.

Again, if you haven't already, please confirm if you are going direct to the venue, or taking the convoy from Tesco (see post above).

Same doc, two formats:

Brooklands Pass.pdf
(58.94 KiB) Downloaded 32 times
or
Brooklands Pass.docx
(78.89 KiB) Downloaded 27 times

Weather is looking iffy, so come prepared.

We will have the club gazebo, but unsure until we arrive whether we will have a suitable surface to erect it.

It's a great venue, will tons of interesting stuff to see, so really looking forward to it, as I haven't been for about 8 years or so.

Just a word of warning - not sure if anybody's checked it but a lot of Supermarkets have Parking Restrictions (even to 10 or 15 minutes) limited to "Customers Only". By definition - *if the shop is closed - you cannot be a Customer*...
I *don't* know if this applies to Tesco in general or this particular Tesco - but if somebody is nearby and can check the signage / Ts&Cs would be useful...

Joe keeps getting caught by these as he goes for impromptu (albeit midnight) Car meets - just SOOO many £60 invoices / Parking Charges :(

I can't see anything about their Car Park terms on their website https://www.tesco.com/store-locator/add ... ation-road :(

Crikey, that was a very late entry Sean! I'm surprised Brooklands hadn't closed off ticket sales earlier in the week. I just hope they are generous on the stand area allocation, as they wre expecting 20 cars and we now have 22, I believe. I'm hoping Will ticked the optional box for a "3x3m gazebo" too when filling out the stand request.

Great turnout though, everyone :D =D> :thumleft:

The plan is to join the convoy at Tesco. Much depends on the traffic on the stretch of M25 between M4 and M3, if I miss the deadline I'll go straight to the venue.
Great to see that this new event has sparked a real interest. Very much looking forward to it.
