That's very annoying. They don't seem to tell you there's a deadline for club registration until you try and buy tickets/register.
You can still buy personal tickets for £20 each. Apologies; it would have been nice to have a stand for those with a qualifying 8. I've dropped them an email but I doubt we'll get lucky.

Perhaps someone who's attending would like to suggest a meetup point for getting to the event together? Even if it's the public area that'll be nice.
Sparkling Black Kuro SN# 400/500. PZ suspension, Mini-mapped, EBC Red Stuff fronts disks and pads, Custom Oil Lines, Varta E27 battery. Blacked alloys, K&C air filter, RRP Mk2 Coils and MSD Leads, Krown rustproofed.

If the booking conditions had been ascertained right at the beginning this situation would not exist.
Malcolm has offered a possible solution for those wishing to attend.

There MAY be some confusion.

I can't check, in Majorca.

It MAY be no NEW club STAND bookings, but tickets for EXISTING stands still available? Might be worth trying....

See booking code on previous page.

I've just this minute booked to go on the RX7 stand, makes a change from RX7s on the RX8OC stand.... I only hope the bacon rolls are as good? :thumright:

As only 04 Series 1 are allowed, I guess apart from Fab66, there probably won't be anymore? :-k

Hi Derek,

I’ve just been on the w/s via the link at the top of this thread and it says the club stand entry deadline was midnight on the 9th of September, I wish I had checked before having now missed the club stand. It also says that you cannot add anymore after the deadline!

I've booked to go on the RX7 stand, no problem. I'm sure the deadline date refers to booking a club stand!

Hope you can make it, at least I'll have an ally :thumright:

If anyone would like to go to this show, you are most welcome to come onto the rx7fb.com stand. Series 1 RX-8's are OK, based on what the organisers have said. Booking details:

Club Name: rx7fb
Code: JCL-183

Ian Mothersole and I will be on the stand in our other rotaries, our RX-7 1983/4 models.

Hopefully see some of you there!
Red & Black, Derek, has confirmed that bookings to come onto this stand are still OPEN! Book soon, before the organisers close off entries :D

Hope to see some RX-8's there!

Yes, they've extended the deadline till Monday for existing club stands. Looks like the RX7fb stand will have a few 8s in there too then 😉

If it was less than five 2003/04 models, they wouldn't allow a RX8OC stand anyway. So maybe this was always the best option?

Last call. As far as I'm aware only Red & Black has booked to attend this show? can't be long before the organisers cease to take further bookings.

Classic Japfest 2024 review.

Post by Red & Black »

It seems that the administration for events such as this are far more stringent than what invariably happens on the day.
On arrival no one checked tickets, all they were concerned with was directing you to the right area for your stand, you could have had a car full of non ticket holders! There were also several cars on display that were far less than 10 years old, let alone 20
Two were RX8s, one 2005, the other had a personal plate.

Once again there was no where to erect a gazebo, as they were using the hard stand carpark areas, just like Silverstone earlier in the year. And it nearly didn't happen on the hard stand at Brands Hatch either, but thanks to some ingenuity by Ian the bacon rolls and hot drinks were soon being consumed. Not only does it give you the opportunity to sit and chat, it saved us from a drenching later in the day, although the waves of water lapped around our feet.

Shame about the weather at the Classic Japfest, as it started drizzling for a second time, around 1.30 and seeing quite a number of cars leave, I too headed for the exit for the 3 hour drive home. Only to be reminded at the gate by a steward, not to rev the car and race down the road..... would I do that? [-X

That's a shame to hear Derek, we played by the rules and had low attendance, if the admin were as lacking as the stewards we could of had a good turnout to this. I would of attended in the R3. Shame it was not to be, as I know a few were interested and we were told no, to then hear that cars less than 10 years old were there, when the youngest of ours is coming upto 15 years old, makes a bit of a mockery of them denying themselves sales.
