We did - phew! After a very early 40 minute round trip to Daventry yesterday morning to my Dad's who printed the pass for me!

Had a great day at Silverstone yesterday, the weather played ball, the company was awesome, our rx8s all looked awesome together in the stand and there was a good atmosphere all round.

Highly recommended, even walked best part of 10km throughout the day too enjoying all it had to offer.

As a newbie to all this and as i'm not into social media, i was surprised and a little taken back tbh by the turnout and organisation of the OC club compared to what i now know is the Familia RX8 group, who had way more cars in attendance and more presence in the stands.

Felt like the RX8 world is split and disjointed from my naive perspective, as I dont do 'them' and 'us'.

Totally appreciate that runnng an OC is an arduous and thankless voluntary role, so this isn't a dig against anyone whatsoever, it is merely my observations without knowledge of the history and politics of the club.

Just seems a shame, that's all.

The “usual suspects” we see at shows for some reason did not attend this year which was disappointing and due to prior or unforeseen commitments, I had booked Goodwood with my grandson, a representative from the Events Team was unable to attend with the gazebo and flags. This has been noted and hopefully these won’t be absent again at a show where our members require a “club” stand.
Thanks for attending and I am confident that the JDM show will exceed your expectations but I just looked and didn’t see you name on the list.

Cheers Chris, appreciate the response, i hope that nobody takes my comments personally, as that was never my intention.

Was a fab day, haven't seen so many RX8s in one place before and there were a fair few more of them scattered about on other stands too. I did wonder whether they knew about the RX8OC and wished i'd had some cards or something to leave with them all as i passed.

Gazebo and flags would have been a nice touch to promote the club better with and as i've seen pics of them at other RX8OC attended events, i just assumed that they would be there as a matter of course.

Will look into JDM as figured it was moreso for seasoned owners and members seriously into their stuff, which is not where im at yet, so thanks again.

The RX8OC is aimed at all owners or people with an interest in the car and which is the common theme that brings us together initially and it’s the friendships that develop due to that which mean that people remain members and attend events and regional drives even if they have moved in to other cars.
Aside from the above the catering on our stands is legendary!

The JDM Show is our flagship event of the year, hence why we request all the members to be paid up to attend our club stand

So if you want to see loads of Rotaries all in one place at the same time, then this is the event for you to go to and what's more it is cheaper than going to Japfest, as it's only £22.49 per car including three passengers

Unfortunately Japfest has got very expensive over the years, which puts a lot of our members off going
