Goodwood Festival Of Speed 10th - 11th July

Post by Blue Star »

Anyone going this year?
Should be a cracking event.
I will be the there from 8th to 11th and will be competing in the timed hill run on the 10th/11th in two very nice cars!
Hopefully the weather is kind. Will loads of great cars and some very interesting celebs.

Great Sunday is always special!
One is pretty much nailed on is a Ferrari SF90 Stradale
The other is really special but I cannot say just now as the owner doesn’t know he is lending it to me yet!

Looks like we will have a Rimac Nevara going up the hill so that should be fun, 2000hp electric sled.

The Rimac is confirmed and being driven by a very handy driver. It should break the hill record! No pressure then.

Just giving this a bump to advise that Dave2112, Smedley (Roger) and myself will be there for Shootout Sunday if anyone else wants to hook up there we will most likely be on the Molecombe bank.

I will now be driving amongst others a 1973 BMW 3.0CSL Batmobile up the hill which is probably more exciting than anything else for me as always lusted after these.
Wave if you see me, can’t really miss me as I have a big Blue star on my white race suit.

Are there words more powerful than envious and jealous? One very lucky gent to have the opportunity to drive one of those.
What else are you lucky enough to be driving over the weekend.
Have you seen the nice PZ that Boosted is selling for a friend on here. Not sure if as a guest you can view this however viewtopic.php?p=1333175#p1333175

I own the BMW but was really lucky to be given the thumbs up to drive it at Goodwood (after some grovelling!) but had to give up other drives.
It will only be a demo drive and not timed as the old girl is a tad fragile. Will do a few doughnuts if it feels up to it.
Not sure about a PZ or R3 now. Some very strange people on here and over zealous mods etc

Compared to the Facebook RX8 groups the folks on here are overall a friendly helpful bunch. More cars with mods that are subtle rather than the BGW and wide body kit brigade (except for Dave 2112 with his wide body SC orange beast)
A pristine R3 may be easier to find than a good PZ unless you fancy a PZ restoration project!
What a great car to own, a testament to British race car engineering as the Batmobile was developed by Broadspeed IIRC.
Should I bring my helmet? No race suit though!
