Rotarystock 2021 - Sunday 25th July

Post by Clive » Thu Sep 03, 2020 6:15 pm

Rotarystock 2021 will be the 25 anniversery of the RX-7 Club!

We now have a confirmed date as the Sunday 25th July 2021.

Lisa, myself and some from MRC have already booked, so lets see how many Rotaries from the UK we can get to go to the 2021 event.

Just reserved room at the Appollo Hotel Leystad, via Booking.com where we have stayed many times before with excellent parking across from the hotel . More details here http://mazdarotaryclub.com/forum/index. ... ic=84957.0

We have been many times and always found it's is a very nice relaxed event, everyone makes you feel very welcomed and a good weekend away.

Traditionaly we go into Amsterdam on the train which is a short walk from the hotel we stay at which is always a good day out.

Hotel booked :thumleft:

Gwyn and I had a great time at this event, plus visiting Amsterdam on a day trip too, back in 2017. Looking forward to going again.

For anyone who doesn't know much about this event, here are links to the 2017 event on the MRC which will give you a flavour.

(see pages 11-12 for event reports)

The only issue with the trip over/back in 2017 was the really heavy traffic around Brussels :(

Getting lost a few times was part of the fun too ;)

Very tempted. Would it be ok to bring a 5 year old along?

Is this an arrive Friday leave Monday event? Will probably make this as part of a trip to CZ or returning from CZ.

Thanks

Well knowing how quickly hotels can get booked, I have booked 3 nights so looking forward to seeing a few more people there!

Geoff, the event itself is just the Sunday, but those who know each other via the rotary forums (RX-8 OC and MRC in the main) usually get together for some evening meals and socialising (covid-19 permitting!!) in Lelystad on some/all of Fri/Sat/Sun. It's absolutely your choice on how you'd like to plan/use your time. Just come along on the Sunday, or join the group for some of the evenings. My wife is not a fan of car events, so we usually shoot off to explore Amsterdam on the Saturday as compensation for the Sunday ;) . For us, ferry over on Friday and ferry back on Monday, but we might decide, like you, to tack on a few days elsewhere whilst we are in Holland, and catch a ferry back later in the week.

I don't know about a 5 yo. I wouldn't think there is a problem, but maybe Clive knows the official position and can answer that one.

Thanks Casey.
I booked the 3 nights for Jessica, myself and our grandson but he may not come anyway. 1 week stuck in a car might get boring for him but he did enjoy the NC500.

I have a friend in CZ that has been asking me to bring the RX8 over since we bought it. He knows a good circuit that takes about a week visiting all the countries surrounding CZ. He Drives an MX5 so he is kinda in the family. :) Once I know what his plans are around that time I can book the ferry or chunnel crossing.

Geoff, this is very much a family orientated event where everyone is welcomed, so no problems bringing the little one.
