Re: Annual Meet - Sakura in the Sun - 7th-8th June
I must say I am quite surprised at the lower turnout this year so far. We are only at about a 1/4 of the usual amount for an AM? Given this is the same format of one of our most successful AMs at yakushi 2 years ago, but our own show, this is quite unexpected? If anyone has any feedback they wish to share, please feel free to PM me on whether this is not what people want? Just poor timing? Clashes with something else we have missed? Etc......
Thanks, and if you are available that weekend, why not come and support the club as we try to expand and doing something new for the whole JDM community.

Re: Annual Meet - Sakura in the Sun - 7th-8th June
My personal feeling around car shows/meets is that they are just a bit boring, there is only so much walking around and looking at the same cars I can do
Having done shows all over the UK for years, as a trader, spectator and displaying my car, they do become a bit same-y
I’m also not into the drinking/party side of things, so the camping shows don’t appeal to me on that side either.
If I was an hour away, I’d come for the day, but it’s going to be a 6 hour round trip, and there’s just other things I’d rather do on a weekend I think
This is just my opinion, and my main reason I don’t attend shows anymore

Re: Annual Meet - Sakura in the Sun - 7th-8th June
Fair enough, I can appreciate that. We do normally tie this into an evening meal at hotel with another show like JDM Combe etc. But then we also had a yakushi which was a good laugh and good attendance. We try to keep things a bit varied with various formats of hotel meal after a show, hotel with a drive out like tour Snowdon, hotel meal after a trackday or something like Yakushi which was the cheapest alternative and we'll attended because people didn't have to sped 250 for the weekend on a hotel room, meals, ticket to track or show before. This is basically completely FREE for all members! Other than a bit of fuel you can have a weekend away, camp for free, return same day or local hotels also avail. Not a pop at you, bit of advertising the last bit. But yeah would be nice for some more members.Ouzify wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 2:04 pmMy personal feeling around car shows/meets is that they are just a bit boring, there is only so much walking around and looking at the same cars I can do
