My understanding is that a decision will be made next week once the new government guidelines are known.
It’s certainly looking unlikely.

Yeah its not looking promising, I guess we should wait for gov announcement on Sunday, hopefully track days will be available some time this year.

I don't think there will be any shows this year but I do think track days will start again soon so I'm pretty sure Pembrey will be ok.

Yeah, I have a feeling events like Beaulieu or Combe JDM are too many people in one place mingling and wandering around. I can see track days starting up again once things like non essential journeys are allowed, because it'll be relatively easy to social distance if you're all seperated into cars...

I too think track days could start in June/July as social distancing should be possible with the numbers involved. The main problem area I see is signing on and the drivers briefing, especially the issue and fitment of wrist bands. Oh and very importantly lunch of course.

They could really put the zoom zoom in zoom meetings then pass the wrist band through a window or door gap and watch the driver put it on.

If anything I think it would be the risk of an accident that holds them back. The chain of contact getting everything sorted and running again increases the risks.

Re: JDM Castle Combe Saturday POSTPONED 6th June 2020

Post by ChrisHolmes » Mon May 11, 2020 2:33 pm

This announcement was sent out this afternoon by the circuit and confirm our fears that the event would be postponed.
Keep the faith everyone and hopefully we will be able to enjoy a JDM day at Combe in late summer or Autumn, but probably not quite so sunny as we have been used to.

The Castle Combe Circuit events team regrets to announce that, due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation JDM Combe, due to be held on Saturday 6th June has been postponed.

We are currently working to confirm a new date for the event later in the year. Rest assured that any bookings already secured will be transferrable over to this new date. Please stay tuned for further announcements and instructions.

Please note that the Circuit office is now closed and there will be a delay when it comes to replying to any further queries.

We appreciate your cooperation during this difficult time.

Kind regards,

Castle Combe Circuit

Summer Action day at Castle Coombe is going ahead on 8 aug. postponed from 25 july. Just reading on their website there is no mention of JDM coombe so I guess it's cancelled as other shows are listed as going ahead on revised dates.

The latest JDM information from a phone call today is that in discussions an October date has been tabled but as of today no firm decision has been made.
I communicated that given other events are being announced as rescheduled several members are enquiring as to why there is no JDM announcement.
My feeling is that an announcement will be forthcoming in July.

i notice theres no mention of a refund option. i asked for a refund weeks ago and did not receive a reply from them...

the rx8 oc, of course, refunded me less than 24hrs after pm’ing, it would be nice if castle combe could even be bothered to reply...

I'm not suggesting this, but if you want a refund then an email to them saying that they're legally required to offer you a refund might help. Tweeting and spamming their FB with complaints can be even more effective.

If that doesn't work there's always the SCC (or the threat of it to shake companies up and prompt a result). Once you're satisfied that you've given them long enough and they're not just swamped.

May not be worth it to some for a small amount of money... but sometimes the principal is worth defending.
